I've used your salting method of bait preparation for the shad on Hogan and on sardines for fishing Monterey for lings. Really toughens them up.
nice fish! ive been rolling shad for stripers there for over 25 years... stopped going since you tube vids made it crazy busy 5, 6 years ago, but will try that weight method in my kayak when crowds subside.
I went out there yesterday at Hogan Saturday didn’t know they had early July 4 fire works 🎆🎇so many boats disturbing the water. Parking was full!! I went there afternoon for sunset fishing I use this technique just one bite must been a small one. I am also into fly fishing I caught only one 22 inch striped bass that was it. I will try again next fishing trip. Thanks for the video tips have a good one !
Went 6/30 and fished 6am-12pm. Tried this technique and I caught 2 the first hour I was there (both 22 inches). Caught the third one around 9. I use livescope and most of the time I will see the fishes come check out the bait but will swim off. Other than that thank you sir for this tutorial.
