You've done a great job , if you have any more further projects I highly recommend a angle grinder with a paint stripping pad , takes paint / stain off in minutes. My husband removed 30 years of built up paint from our staircase in a few hours. But he did dismantle our staircase and took out all the spindles.
Wow, I can not believe the lady sold that marble topped antique washstand for just £40, that's unreal😯!!...and what is even more fascinating is how well the EasyOff cleaner stripped the wood. I am blown away. The dressing table looks so lovely, well done Liza👏🏾👏🏾. Thank you so very much for sharing darling ❤️, I'm inspired to get on Facebook Marketplace to find some furniture pieces for my home😁. Take care and enjoy the rest of your week 🤗💕.
Absolutely beautiful but you will need a protective coat because the wood will stain from finger marks. If you’re worried about a finish darkening it, you could use a light coat of white or taupe wax, it won’t cover the wood but will knock back any red tones.
Liza you should check out channel Kacha for furniture restoration. In her last video she used bleach to strip a piece and it looks fabulous. A good guide for future pieces?
Wow..Wow..Absolutely stunning!!..what a fabulous find!..it looks amazing!..loving the finish what a brilliant tip!👏👏 thankyou for sharing..Enjoyable video as always!!!☺💚..Happy Sunday have a super dayyyyy..☺💚...
I bought my washstand back in the 80s at a jumble sale in also in Devon. The one I have has an Art Deco tiled back the tiles are green and yellow and I keep it in my hallway. There is also a couple of rust marks in the marble which I can’t remove. These washstands were very expensive a few years ago, glad you are happy with yours x
Looks lovely xx I’d definitely spray a wood polish or a natural wax on it. The wood will need feeding. Iv vintage pieces that I love, I spray a good wood polish on mine. X
I live the marble top on the dresser, over the past few months I have been changing my entire house so everything is black or white, I have been painting so many things black like candle sticks and trays etc, I am really pleased with it, so yes definitely have black pieces in the house, you can't go wrong.
It worked really well Liza …now the next question is where are you going to place your RU-vid silver plaque, you are the smallest number away .You’ve worked so hard and deserve it ❤️ x
Such a beautiful piece of furniture, would definitely be better with a black stool so lovely. Would love to see a bedroom update video and one of all the pieces you’ve got from antique fairs and charity finds xx
What an amazing FB find .... it looks incredible now .... so very beautiful & it looks so expensive too .... really adds to the beauty of your gorgeous calm tranquil bedroom 😍😍😍❤❤❤❤💕💕💕💕💕🌻🌻🌻🌻
Hi Liza, the table is beautiful and the most important thing is that you don't have to be painting. The technique is a very good idea and I will definitely try it one day. Happy Sunday.
I love it! And what a great hack!!! Love the chair with it. If you get black night stands I'd just spray the chair legs Matt black. Would love a tour of all your found treasures!
Omg! How beautiful did that turn out 😍 I now want to go through my house and throw all my ugly ikea furniture out and do this in every room 😂 who knew oven cleaner would make this happen 🙈 brill thanks for sharing xx
@@lizaprideaux well I am an oldie and in my day fiddes wax was the best, but I am sure an Annie Sloan would be just as good. Thank you for giving me years of pleasure watching you and your family. Xx
Yes but you have to protect it with wax i believe. Get ANNIE SLOAN CLEAR WAX and do 2 coats and ypu will have the same result. Nice find but for me is little bit small for your space.
