This song came on the radio today and it was the 1st time I had heard it in probably 15 to 20 years. I completely forgot this song existed and it completely made my day!
I remember back when I saw this band in concert way back in 2000 with Vertical Herizon...Stroke 9 was opening for them and they totally upstaged V.H. that night...it was such an awesome concert. I shook the lead singers hand when they were onstage performing....ahh such good times and such a great band!! LONG LIVE STROKE 9!!
I moved from Indiana to Eugene Oregon in '99 with my bf & this was his favorite CD(I was 19, he was 26, he's now my husband & we've got 3 sons) & it rarely left our cars CD player. He'd listen to it from start to finish at least twice a day & I became a huge fan too. I'm _shocked_ these guys never became _huge stars_ bcuz their songs are so well written & have really catchy hooks #StrokeMFing9 Edit: spelling
I'm just seeing this now...but yes I agree they should have become much bigger than they did I still to this day have the actual physical CD and it works! which is a miracle because I played that thing Non-Stop
my dad introduced me to this song about a year ago and i forgot how good of a song it is. it doesn’t feel that old but it is and it’s crazy how time flies so quickly 😅
Omg how i miss it. Bring back those walkmans CD'S 💖 .. i would wear those big pocket overalls and I would walk with it everywhere i go. Plug in my earphones and let it play and buy new double A's batteries when batteries died or would get them from tv remote lmao .. good ol memories. 💖
Music from the 90's and early 2000's is some of the most underrated music of all time. Sugar Ray, Third Eye Blind, Ben Folds, The Toadies, shit the list is endless. This kind of music made my day back then and continues to give me that uplifting feeling that can't be matched.
+Jeff Panetta Because ti brings back memories to people like me, I am 32 and I heard this song for the first time almost 16 years ago. Any other questions?
Remembered listening to this on a Sansa MP3 player that a good family friend bought me for Christmas when I was little. Got kinda sad today and started thinking about stuff from better times and remembered this song. It's cheering me up, I really loved it. I'm glad to see a comment section of people who came from the same place.
Crazy, I joined the Navy while listening to this song. They came on my ship in 2005, and did a show. They were doing a tour of the ship, and ended up next to me, near my rack. I was like...you don't even know.
That's amazing. My favorite song at 5 was the theme to Sesame Street. Did you actually have a little black backpack or just really good taste in music?
I added this to only one playlist that I made with my friends on Spotify. I listen to music while I sleep, and I had a dream where the person I like was singing this in a band and it sounded really good. That was near the end and when I woke up, it was playing this, starting where I left off. That was a great feeling, not sure why. I know I was relying on this song for my dream although I hadn’t known any of the words until just now, an hour later.
I remember when I first seen it on a commercial when WCW wrestling was on and it went to comercial my mother and I was dying laughing at the song truth be told we finally heard the whole song and loved it ever since. #jeffjarrettwascallinghismovethestroke #wenttocommercialstroke9plays
You see a dude kissing your girlfriend, so you beat his ass, and in one last act of defiance, you steal your now-ex-girlfriend's black backpack. Yeah, that's life ... Great song.
+STIRRUPLEATHER Nope, I came here on my own. Havent heard this since it was on the radio back in the day and suddenly just found it. Now I feel like an outsider. Guess I'll console myself with a beer.
zekester1981 Drinking doesn't solve your problems!! I was just parodying the lyrics, and lots of the viewers were ShadowLeggy fans! Anyone is entitled to enjoy the music despite any comments!
I don't know what or who ShadowLeggy is...I'm listening to it because this is one of my favorite songs (I first heard it in 1999) in fact this song was the song that played on my MYSPACE page
Soda poppy as hell, while a delicious tune I'm only allowed once maybe twice a year. Great memories are made on music. And this is definitely just that. The rest of the album was also great by the way. Cruisin music. Just give it a whirl when your driving sometime you'll see what I mean. Relax a little more. The world may look grim, but happiness helps.
