Hi Jerry, thanks for this platform to listen, learn and share. With .e I fell around the lounge, was unconscious for a few minutes. After regaining consciousness I walked upstairs to the bedroom and slept. Late at night, due to my irregular breathing my girlfriend called the ambulance for me. Apparently I was in coma for two weeks. When I woke up I couldn't talk, walk nor feel my left side It was a terrible experience. I was fed carried was just helpless. After I was discharged from hospital I was in the wheelchair for months. I couldn't.move my left side.I was just sleeping in the bed 24/7. It goes on. I was in denial for a while thinking one day I would be fine Story for another day 🙏💪

Probably my biggest setback to walking was the Bablinsky reflex. My AFO stimulated the sole of my foot and made my toes curl up real hard so that i was walking on the ends of my toes making a mess of the nails. My big toes developed ingrown nails. After two years of getting my toes healthy i decided to ditch the AFO. I still dont have great control of my knee but the toe response is much less. I can tolerate the pain to barefoot across the bedroom with a cane.

I was in the hospital a totai of six weeks--during covid in 2021. Everyone in masks, even my wife couldnt see me the first week until i was moved to inpatient therapy. Then only my wife. No support group, not encouraged to eat together. Very isolating. Had to fight to get my priest in even once.

I went off of all meds as soon as i left the hospital. One pain med i had to taper off of. But i cried and cried sometimes raged for probably a year or more. Now i run from silly; i cant help laughing, its embarrassing. To thorozine-flat. Not so much rage and tears any more. Still get normal sized angry.
