An incredible but dangerous thunderstorm hit Oviedo, FL on July 20, 2021 with all kinds of hazards, particularly close-range lightning strikes and heavy rain. Rainfall totals over 3 inches were common around Oviedo and other nearby locations.

1:00 - Sky is very dark, slight blue-green tint is visible
4:00 - Rain intensifies
6:45 - Winds begin to pick up
7:22 - Winds intensify further to around 35 mph, rainfall is very heavy
16:30 - Lightning approaches closer, thunder becomes louder
19:55, 20:52, 22:22, - Close lightning strikes (off-frame), loud thunder
22:48 - Visible lightning strike and loud thunder
25:05, 26:28 - Additional close lightning strikes (off-frame), loud thunder
27:30, 27:57 - Additional close lightning strikes (off-frame), loud thunder
29:10 - Extremely close lightning strike (off-frame), very loud thunder
30:06 - Additional close lightning strikes (off-frame), loud thunder
33:34 - Exceptionally close lightning strikes and some of the loudest thunder blasts I have ever heard. These strikes were almost directly on top of the camera; thunder was almost perfectly in sync with each strike’s flash. Looking closely, you can see a small piece of the bolt on the top-left corner of the video.
