@@bemb4064 I may, but I generally prefer building on towers or even in the open. There's a lot of schools of thought on base defense. My big issue with a cave is that your creativity is slightly limited. The best cave is the Crevice, but it is not available on many servers and takes a metric ton of resources to properly secure and build up. Other than that, I really like to build places like the Slaveway. You can layer yourself in and then build above. I usually put all my valuable shit up top with heat traps all around so that no one can climb. I've never been raided in that base, but you do need to make sure you land claim the crap out of everywhere they could build a treb.

I'm fairly new so i'm still learning, can you elaborate more on how the fence foundation/ceiling stacks are better than honeycomb or regular foundation stacks? And how does one exactly ceiling stack properly?

@@Sepphy101 sorry, just saw this comment. I am not sure since a friend told me that they have changed how your fence stack. It used to be that you would stack fence foundations because you could stack more foundations in a smaller space. So where you could get a single Square foundation, you would be able to get 5 fence foundations...which would be almost 5x the HP for your enemy to blow through. The baseline is that there's no such thing as an unraidable base. Your goal is to make it as time and resource intensive as possible. I've had bases before where noob groups spent an entire raid hour trying to raid me and couldn't get into my main crafting areas, let along my storage. Even experienced raiders generally stayed away or waited until they could offline raid me (because it would be very hard to complete the raid in a raid time if the base was actively defended). I'd check out some other content creators for how to stack with the new updates, or if it's even possible still. They might have gotten rid of it because foundie stacking was a component in lag on official servers. Making it so you can't stack would be easier than actually upgrading their servers I guess.

@@raginasiangaming910 For anyone late to the conversation this is my method as well, though I prefer Eastern Barracks. I only use the back, 4 blocks off the back wall with aurello fence stacking all the way out to the from of the steps. It gets me 110 doors, so, roughly 1100 bombs to enter. 4 blocks off the back wall gives you can easy fit for a yog alter(It doesn't cover the cront of the base). I can do it in ~3.5 as well. Also outside your final doors carpet the ground with more low lying wall stack. To blow in with bombs you need to start on the outer edge (Make sure you protect ledges to prevent people kicking bombs off from above. Always be doing economics on your base designs. How many bombs does it take to blow in. I had an attacker hitting me the other night. I was out, my wife called me and told me that I was getting raided. Got her to check the logs and counts the doors as they were removing them. They had 5 off in about 5 minutes which is pretty good, at 10pm... I had 80 doors on that building, so, came home with little care of them getting in. The big advantage of this base is it;s likely going to take you a few hours of bombing, and I can easily midnight all my goodies out in that time. Only successful raid was a double god attack followed by bombs when I had no bubble up. NOTE : I'm a solo and this base once sustained a 3 DAY raid by 7 people. If they fail to get in in a single night, I'm 100% back to normal the next day.

@@farmerthatgames9674 Should use ceiling stacking in the middle, and fence stacking creating a grill over the top and down in the the shaft about 2-3 levels. Impossible to put bombs on top of. Kicking them in 1 by 1 is too tedious for most people to bother continuing. Beneath that put in 20-30 ceiling stack layers.

I would say if you have 48 hours of only detonating bombs and patience in possibly raiding to not find the first loot room be my guest.. Takes time to build harder to break it down. :D

Sometimes. If people build the way I do, with a hundred layers of stacked fences (or more), then gods are cheaper. Sometimes trebs are cheaper, but they are fiddly to work with and not very precise so you often have to knock things out of the way to hit the blocks you want. Example, someone built on the sewer, and 'squared off' the corners with a full stack of foundations. The foundation was right on the edge of the dropoff so bombs couldn't be placed. Anticlimb all the way up. So, 10 mins of fiddling with a treb and that whole stack and all the anticlimb zippered off the corner. Maybe 20+ layers of foundation, and 40+ anticlimbs. That of course opened up a climbing channel and a few mins later 3 * t3 alters were nullified.

@@fishfossils8858 imagine spending thousands of bombs to clear a base then finding out the base is empty with no loot or benches inside? I will ragequit if i were any raider having to make those bombs and finding literally a shell. XD

@@googol572 I've rarely see a base other than my own that need more than 1000 bombs to enter a base. On official servers maybe one in 10 black ice bases even has fence stacking. Most bases can be entered with only 1-2 stacks of dragonpowder. 100 dragonpowder for a sole is easy in 2 hours(without oils). Clear the springs 30 mins tops. Clear midnight grove twice (but only hyena and wolves) as that respawns nice and fast. Don't go past the first boss. I skip the pork, fur give poor yields. Make sure you have a maproom near sep to get home. Sequence your loops. Midnight, then springs, then midnight, etc. On a double bowl alchemy bench that'll give me 10,000 steelfire. Crystal from skittering. I use obsidian picks and blood from the yeti, or, if it;s not bugged boss snakes.

I personally only fence stack in certain locations because they'll blow through gates before they blow through a foundation block

@@alexburnell4562 again wrong, if someone is determined enough they WILL find a way, i thought the same of a base at one of the islands, I wasn’t an asshole to anyone, but some douche bag server wipers came i thought I’d be safe, but then one day during raid time they came, and cleaned my base, no matter what i did they just got passed my “unraidable” world defenses and cleaned my whole base out, the instant you believe its unraidable is the moment you open yourself up to getting wiped

Demi-lich simple, put bombs over the ice and let the splash damage destroy the foundations attacked to the ice, i would take a minute, but it could be done

I think gates laywering and drawbridge would be 100x better than this. Plus the honeycomb sucks, you always get stuck in it, your thrall block you from getting out it's just bad.

@@farmerthatgames9674 What these wannabe "raiders" don't seem to get is "risk vs reward". I make bases like this all the time and I put empty vaults or lots of empty & locked large chests scattered around. Sometimes I'll put salt or dung inside. That way the raider wastes more explosives just to get in and discover they wasted their entire arsenal on a fake base. As for bombing from the top down, just put spikes or wall palisades at the bottom so when they drop down they die from the spikes.
