I'm happy to see that Trey is looking so good. His Achilles tear wasn't that long ago but he's already back to being one of the strongest. I bet he'll do 200kg+ at Max Axle in the final

@@codyschnuriger6743 No doubt moose is still the man to beat. Thing about him is that he knows that he doesn’t have to be the best in every event. As long as you place in the top 3 in each event and kill it on the one event you’re best at, you can win. Most strongmen peak too early or don’t strategize.

Would Olympic style split press be allowed in Shaw classic's overhead events..?
@patricklang7162
@patricklang7162 5 месяцев назад
Idk about Shaw classic, but I’m pretty sure WSM. I was just commenting about this in another comment. Those guys probably wouldn’t be as efficient with split jerk though. They’d really have to put time into it, but it’d be cool to see. I’d love to see Lasha come and try this. Idk if you’re familiar with Lasha, but 267kg clean and jerk. I wonder who the strongest man really is.
@shashishekharsingh4652
@shashishekharsingh4652 5 месяцев назад
@@patricklang7162They can be efficient with a few months of practice. But to me it's on similar lines of allowing Sumo deadlift. Strongman has the right amount of leniency with the rules (eg. allowing straps, suits and hitching during deadlifts etc), just enough to keep strength as the focus. Allowing split jerk takes away from that. Lasha Could put some serious numbers in overhead events but the rest would need some work. He would still be elite in those but not up to the WSM mark initially.
@patricklang7162
@patricklang7162 5 месяцев назад
@@shashishekharsingh4652 no. They most certainly can not be efficient with a few months of work. I’ve been doing weightlifting for years and work with multiple weightlifters. Guys that big cannot get there that quick. Maybe with good push jerk technique, but not split jerks that will add the amount of weight that they do. Those guys do not have the speed, body awareness, mobility. It’s something they would really have to workout. Their bodies have never been in that position before. Take any strongman that has a 200kg clean and press. It would take 2+ years before he could make a split jerk add weight to that. The timing, the mobility, the technique.. all these little nuances. And then he would have to sacrifice his work on everything else to perfect his split jerk. Strength and practice would be lost everywhere. I thought when I started the snatch would be the hardest. Nope. For me snatch was nothing to learning a split jerk. Even the greatest 109+ lifters still struggle with their jerks. Get real
@patricklang7162
@patricklang7162 5 месяцев назад
@@shashishekharsingh4652 but I agree with WSM Lasha wouldn’t be there “initially” but in events like clean and press be might set new records. He would have to spend 1 year to learn the strongman clean I bet, but he would crush it.
@shashishekharsingh4652
@shashishekharsingh4652 5 месяцев назад
@@patricklang7162 efficiency in terms of more reps done at lower weight is something that they can achieve within months. Mitch Hooper is an example. Increasing their max might take a couple of years. Lasha is a gifted athlete, but so are the most strongman. The variety of events might be the most challenging part for him. But I can confidently say he has the potential to be a champion in this too, something I can't say for all the strongman to be honest.

Get him and his fam(wife and kids if they have um) to Denver for a fortnight for a training vacation....I know he doesn't like having a coach but we need to get that deadlift sorted out, and two weeks w/ the best strongman to exist seems like the remedy....PLUS, the content that would come from it would more than fund his trip and if BryBry did it through Evolution Athletics he could write it all off....do a photo shoot for EA er something....Cmon B, he needs your help....so it's paid for, should end up making a good amount of moolah, we all get amazing content, Mateusz gets his deadlift plus a vacation to the greatest place on earth with his fam, he gets to hang w the boys, assuming tray and Bobbie will stop by like why isn't this happening????
