Great vid! Definitely the beer and hops in the beginning, 1/2 rations, 4 foods. Then I went full candle production but kept running out of money. So I built an inn and increased taxes to 2x. Once I built cathedral I was able to max out services and raise taxes to 4x. For my military I had to buy crossbows and armor to get the first 10 crossbow man to hold a decent defense. But seriously the hardest mission yet. The wolf is a serious bastard.
I was only able to beat this mission after wolf completely stopped attacking me. I think it was a glitch his troop count stopped at 39 and he left me alone :D Thanks for the guide.
tough mission! i had to get 3 grand towers constantly attacked ,once i took out Richard i took my time with wolf cause he pissed me off so much during the game play.
Very nice, you should have used oil pot throwers from the beginning. It is a very effective way of defending the walls, if you don't have crossbowmen yet.
I don't know what's your name man,but I can tell that you're one of the bet Stronghold players that I've ever seen... You have done the impossible thing in this level... Thank you for this video I'll try Its,Is this the hardest level in this game or is there another hardest?
Just completed this after 170 days or so. It was near impossible for me to find a window to siege Richard without having Wolf's attack army "breaching my ass" from behind, since the only way to reach Richard is also Wolf's main attack path. There is ONE spot all the way at the bottom of the map near the river bank where you can place a siege camp, so I used 100 horse archers and 30 shields to go around his castle to the south, then made more shields and some trebuchets there, and then Richard was easy. The hard part was holding off the attacks in the beginning, I must have died 10+ times within the first 40 days or so.
guys... has the game been patched since this upload ? There are so many differencies with my game... Grand tower costs 220 stones, selling candles will give you only 5 gold, not 12 like in this video... As soon as you start the mission, Richard has already archers on his walls, macemen and knights... Seriously it's much more difficult than this upload...
No doubt thats truly impossible mission coz you download dlc and those Al are very dangerous in late game... I guess you need back download late version not in dlc
I used fire a lot more to stop there economy and a bunch of troop charges with cannons to break them, and you use manlets in a cool way i never knew you could. Cool how people can play this game so differently from each other.
Hi Sergi! I'm a huge fan, I follow all your videos. I've been playing Stronghold since the beginning. I've noticed that you're one of the best players out there, if not the best. But I've noticed that you don't place sergeant at arms on the towers, that'll reduce the losses to your crossbow men and archers significantly. Hope I play with you one day! Seen all your strategies :p oh and love your commentary!
Thanks for a great channel! I managed to pull this one of with the new patch by building a church almost immidietly and then being able to tax the people, did not have to worry about a wall in the beggining but just placed archers in the keep and then building a tower., hade wheat and hops and managed to get a lot of bread. Killed richard by using 100 arab swordsman and moved in from the south, had to time it with Wolfs atacks so they dont get interupted
thank you so much for the advice I am playing normal under the new patch, able to complete the mission in 70 days, by building church immediately, and setting up a candle economy, and buying 5 crossbows and amour asap for the first 5 crossbowman a lot of woodcutters, around 10-15 3 wheat, 2 windmills, and then bakeries to keep a normal level of food supply; most of the wood is used for chandlers all archers and crossbowman stayed on the keep, didn't build a single wall or tower because they are too expensive and a waste to the money which can be used to buy wood and build more chandlers to last the first few waves of attacks, I need to constantly use my lord to sail out to meet the swordsman, and then use healer to heal him after the attack ended once there are >30 crossbowman on the keep, and the chandlers are producing more than 80 candles a day, your economy should be stable and you will be able to buy 80 or more arabian swordsmen, to storm richard and kick his ass then it's a matter of time to finish wolf off
@@vincentlau2010 I know this is an old thread but in the new patch I started off with buying a lot of wood camps and then a church and candles. I made wheat farms and slowly kept building the food economy and taxing the peasants. I believe 10 crossbow men in the beginning can hold off most attacks. Then I barely took out Richard. I made a bunch of templar knights and some horse archers with shields I believe and seargant at arms, couple others, and a wolf catapult. I just hit him head on by catapulting his walls and creating an opening and then sending my templar knights and fighting units and got him. Then it was a matter of taking out wolf. This mission was hella hard and guerilla tactics go a long way here.
im surprised The Wolf didn't siege your tower, i had about the same number of crossbows and Arabian Archers, the Wolf made 3 catapults and destroyed my tower quickly, all my units were dead
@@psh3384 Hi there it has been 2 years for this comment but just wanna let you know that i found a way to beat it i just dpnt remember exactly how cause its been too long LOL
***** Not the farms give me food but the bakeries that is why I place the bakeries in between the Stockpile and the Granary. The worker will go to the stockpile, will take flour, will get back to the bakery and then it will put the bread in the granary, then it goes back to the stockpile and so on. :) This way is very efficient. :)
***** Bread is the most efficient in my eyes. But of course, it has it's ups and downs. If you want popularity from food rations you need more types of food,if you just want to feed a bounch of people, just give them bread. :)
depends i like to keep my granary close to the stockpile and bakeries also near stockpile this way i find it is most efficient , ofc bakeries closer to granary as they have to all walk to the grannary from bakeries.
Guys I know I am late BUT the best way to win or at least build your economy and get less ass kicked is ATTACKING one of them with archers in start! Yes Attack & dont let one of them grow at all! I did Richard bcz he is easier to attack 😁 and also he attacks a lot frequently too.....I built like 15 arabian archers and attacked him in first 5 mins while rest of 5 primary archer and lord defended my castle (really hard it was ngl) It worked like butter! I relied a lot on Wood, candles and Bread hehhehe
Also for people saying their towers being Attacked by AI ....just DONT CLOSE your castle, like dont make a boundary and leave a place open in between your walls, the AI WILL TRY TO GET THRU that space that you have left open into your keep instead of attack your tower....NOW HERE COMES MY PRO STRAT 😚.....Place Arabian Fire Throwers in that small space that you have left in wall (place them on top of the wall NOT on ground cuz they will burn) & set their ATTACK target to that small space that you have left for AI to come thru....Now whenever AI will try to go thru that space they will burn their life to red and your archers will kill rest of their life ez pz 😂 AI IS SO DUMB TRUST ME AND TRY THIS! Just dont completely wall your castle and leave a space for dumb AI to go through....
sasd When paired with crossbows, they were insanely ridiculous. Though I honestly feel Crossbows are a bit too strong. I'd say remove the armor req, so they're cheaper but not as strong. When 12 crossbows>40 archers with a Sergeant buff on the top tier tower. There's an issue with that. It could also be that archers don't seem to have automated prioritization; they shoot at farmers when swordsmen and such are marching at them or they all(or at least the majority) end up aiming at the same guy.
At start i send my archers to take all The stated except The one behind Wolf. U get some Stone and meat pretty easily from The states. U still have to harass Rikhard so your Stone comes trough
playing the latest patch on 2020 its almost impossible to beat on the first 50 days. i beat this one at 130 days. with a turtle tactics and sluggish attacks starving the enemy economy then attack their lord with assassins. almost 3 hours playtime. what a mess tough game
you were attacked in 9 minutes by just few weak wolf troops, why richard and wolf attacks me with full army with 50 maceman and 10 swordsman and 7 crossbow and 15 rangers in only 3 minutes???????
@@ottovonbismarck7160 HAHAHAHA 😂 yea, 114 days and tons of loadings for last mission (sand of time)from precedent trail. So how the fuck can I do this one😂😂, but Im gonna try it anyways, I'll let you know😂
Your guide didnt help much since Ai behavior is so different in ur gameplay and mine. For me, the enemy came straight started hitting the tower. Once you lose your tower, thats a big loss considering how expensive stone is... You got lucky... for such a long time enemy just left your tower standing, although it was just a few hits away from getting destroyed. You just got extremely lucky in this play-through, even though you made many mistakes early game (like not selling the excess Ale)
the closest i've got was killing richard but couldn't hold off wolf i tried like you did in the video but didn't work out for me ig you were just lucky that they didn't destroy your tower besides 10 crossbowman can annihilate all arabian archers and once the swordsman reach the tower it'd be too late i used the lord to protect the tower but still there're too many of them if anyone sees this comment plz help me pass this mission share your strategy with me
Edit: finally i passed this mission and killed wolf and richard i built a medium tower and bought 5 crossbowman and kept selling candles to buy weapons so I can reinforce the tower constantly I've lost 638 soldier and killed 4193 This was the hardest mission no cap but I kept trying it took me 7h to succeed so whoever is struggling with this mission don't lose hope
I cringed every time you sold all your goods to make ends meet. Surely you could use an inn for that ale and tax your people for more gold if you needed it couldn't you?
I can't win this game no matter what I do the wolf troops break in and kill my king no matter how many towers or how much arches are on , they all fall apart with Trebuchets
You are playing in easy mode. And you have played all these missions in easy mode. I can bet.....otherwise its not as easy as it appears here. I have played stronghold crusader and 2 at almost every form but these missions in normal mode are hell.
