Looks like a great session and I’m always so happy to see our European neighbours on the channel. They have some of the biggest personalities in the sport and it’s a shame they’re not promoted as well as some of the British and American strongmen. It makes me all the more grateful for this channel.

Belsak has done 200kg Axle (2017 world championships, he got 3rd after Eddie and Hafthor) which is quite rare. I could be missing some guys but the only other ones I know that have done 200kg Axle in competition are Z, Brian, Loz and Clayton.

@N8SAY
@N8SAY 2 года назад
@AdamA2327 Yes, I know but SCL was about 4 years ago. If he would have progressed during that time instead of his hip degenerating, I think he would be up there. Heck, look at how fast these guys storm on the seen. Boudreaux already a third place, not out of the realm for Belsak to have been a possible contender. And I'm sorry, I was being nice. Possible and top 5 is the same point for sure. You brought that up.

Belsak is looking better than I expected! He had a bit of the old Belsak look to him after repping the 90kg log at the end of the log training. Just a bit of that wild look. 😄 It is good seeing him back and able to train. Watching him leading up to finally having surgery almost physically hurt me just seeing him struggle through. He's come a long way already. It is just up to where he wants to try to take it. Being able to train and enjoy it with so much less pain has to be great for him. 👍

Rauno is only six feet tall, not even three hundred pounds, not a giant, not a guy you'd stare at in public, and yet he's the best deadlifter in the world. 420x4 is a feat of strength up there with Savickas log-pressing 520 lbs.--superhuman. Loz have you ever analyzed what exactly it is about Rauno that makes him so extraordinary at deadlift...? Is it some ratio of arms to legs, some center of gravity thing, what...?
@paavoilves5416
@paavoilves5416 2 года назад
tbh I'd say that even though Rauno is not as big of a monster as some strongmen, I'd still be like "oh boy, that's a big man" if I was to ever see him!
@a-a-rondavis9438
@a-a-rondavis9438 2 года назад
He has obviously long arms, those are present in every gifted deadlifter. Also, just being predisposed to being good at deadlift. Some people can just ratchet the weight up their body like nothing else.
@denissobolevski8521
@denissobolevski8521 2 года назад
as much as 420kg for 4 sounds impressive, he will barely lift 1000lbs now because those 420kg for 4 touch and go reps does not reflect weight for max.

The fun thing is, that the realistic amount of people on the planet that can put 90kg above their head is extremely small. You go in any gym, and the guys that can put 70 kg above their head are bloody rare, and probably on top of the chart in their gym.
