I remember them delivering Barite / Barytes to Baker Drilling Fluids 1985 to 1986 next door to us at Maitland Quay Aberdeen. THey had three 8 wheelers I think based in Inverness running round the clock double shifted and a Minworth Industries Artic Bulker from Carluke too - Louis Dallas from Newtonmore was the transport manager and used to drive too. Barite was about £60 a ton then delivered in powder form to Aberdeen to be blown on to Supply Boats at 100 to 200 ton at a time. It weighs 4.2 ton per cubic meter bulk density - about double that of limestone and other minerals :-)
