I love the romantic history of old diamonds and how they were meant to sparkle in candlelight as well as the very uneven imperfect cuts made by hand and primitive tools that are a testament to the labor of love of the master craftsman that must have had to work so hard and tedious to develop the diamonds from their rough. I very much believe that the call of the jewelry that captures our attention is the energy or spirit of life that remains from owners lives and the sentiment left behind. I think it can be of the person directly that calls or maybe just the value of the piece from a relationship gone by, maybe religiously or romantic or just family bonded....that's just what I feel. Hi Jason, I love old diamonds. My husband replaced the diamond in my platinum engagement ring and picked out a diamond from the 1920’s. It’s absolutely beautiful..a little over 2 carats and I love it more than the new diamonds I had in previous rings. I love your videos and the way you educate us without being a know it all. Your knowledge about jewelry is refreshing and I am glad you are willing to share what you know with us. Please keep the videos coming. Hi Jason. I’m addicted to jewelry now. But I’m being responsible in buying now. Gold fine jewelries in retail store has been expensive this yr and my go to right now are thrift shops near my place. I have learn a lot from you videos. Gold jewelries is also an investment. You can pawn it or easy to sell. For me it’s much better to keep jewelries than cash. Gold is money too .

I’ve always been attracted to old things. I love the old design, detail millwork on the jewelry. Old diamonds are hand cut and they speak to me. Your necklace at the end is fantastic. My favorites are the lever back earrings and the Edwardian pieces. I like that old things have a past, and I get to enjoy their journey in their life and mine.

Dear Jason, This may seem to be a strange thing to put here, but it was your mention of Harry Connick Jr., he was on the TV just after Hurricaine Katrina. Someone had died and been covered with a blanket and wheeled outside the sports centre sitting in a wheelchair. Harry walked up to her/him and through the blanket put his hand on the persons shoulder and just stood there for a minute or two, I have loved him ever since, it was such a beautiful thing to do and I have never forgotten it, it brought humanity to a terrible situation. I'm not a diamond fan in general but that said, some old diamonds do speak to me. Modern diamonds read flash and glitz to me while old cut have so much distinction and class. For me it's like the difference between Kim Kardashion and Audrey Hepburn? Does that make me a diamond snob? LOL

The lily of the valley brooch is gorgeous! I find that old diamonds often have more sparkle--perhaps because with the mass production of diamond jewelry poorer quality stones are more common. How do you know there was platinum over the gold? It is marked such? 😊

I find diamond pieces to be very beautiful, old or less vintage. I have mostly felt that prices are much higher than I want to have tied up, so I stay with signed costume pieces that I can determine their saleability easier and be confident. I know you do not prefer to Google pricing and detail. I am the opposite with enough skepticism to get lots of examples. I then save the examples to my computer stash for later selling.

The icon pendant is a wonderful treasure. For it to be in such great condition with its age it must have been very respectfully cared for. It carries a lot of love and prayers. It’s in the right place now. 💚🫶🏻🕊️🙏🏻🦉
