Nice explanation sir. Sir, we majorly across IRC and AAShto method for flexible pavement design. Like these guidelines, which other guidelines are available of other countries for flexible pavement design?

AASHTO Method is the most used method in the world. Europe (Mainly France and UK) has developed its own method called Shell design method of flexible pavement. India has developed IRC method.

Can we suggest fir overlay on the basis of Structural number

Design of overlay requires response of existing pavement structure. You need to know the elastic modulus of each layer after putting the pavement in service for years. This is what we do through the FWD test also. Once you get E value of each layer you can use SN method to suggest the overlay. Same as we do using IRC 37 after FWD data analysis.

hello sir, we know the shape test of aggregate is significant for determining the feasibility of of the aggregates in terms of the workability and strength of the aggregate as a whole in the mix. , but the test procedure is misunderstood or misinterpreting as many do it false where they first check the Flakiness index and then check the elongation index but while checking the elongation index they subtract the weight of flaky aggregate from the total weight in the denominator. the purpose of this is to request you sir to make a video or respond the doubt asked. Thank you sir. Q) in 500g sample of coarse aggregate, there are 100g flaky particles and 80g elongated particles. what are the flakiness and elongation indices (Total) as per I.S. ? (ES)

First find the Flaky particles and then in the remaining sample, find the elongated particles. In the question, Total weight is 500 g, out of which 100 g is flaky material, so FI = 20 % In the remining 400 g, 80 g is elongated material, so EI = 80 divided by 400 = 20 % Therefore, combined Flakiness - elongation index is 20 + 20 = 40 %. It is simple.
