I can relate to all of these! Thank you 💜 I’m single at 36. All of the singles at my church are young, in their 20s. Everyone my age is married and busy. I definitely don’t know where I belong sometimes 😔

@ashleyf450 thank you for sharing! Know that you are not alone, and that sometimes it really is just timing. I know so many couples who got married in mid to late 30s and 40s to amazing people.

Here are some struggles I'm still dealing with as a single Christian- Still healing from past truama but working through it, having a hard time being attracted to the right guy even if he is a Christian, and I had to leave that dating site Zoosk I tried because most people on there appeared to only be looking for sex then leaving, so glad I had my standards set and did not fall for that.

Im single and turning 30 in May! I have defently been trying to apply the idea you (and others) have brought up about enjoying your single years. Im taking a trip to Israel with a group of people from my church next year! I feel like if I was married it would be alot more difficult to take these pricey trips, so its a blessing to have this opportunity. Im still looking for love but I’m trying not to be discouraged about living my life for the here and now. Praying for my single brothers and sisters!! 🙏🙏

28 single… and struggling. Sometimes I try to stay super busy to not remember the hurt of being single…

I recently realized that my love life was really the main way that God could work on me. No other area of my life has been as challenging, frustrating, and painful. In fact, I sort of just glide through everything else. From the outside, I have everything going for me. But at 33 I'm still single. I think the hard part is knowing they I've worked hard to develop good qualities but have nothing to show for it. Then i look around and there are women who are hot messes that have a boyfriend or husband. So it makes me feel like everything im doing isnt enough for anyone. And when you're attractive the pressure really mounts. I know that sounds conceited but let me explain. People will assume that you must be the problem because it shouldn't be hard for pretty girls to find a husband. I have been told that I'm too picky or that I must do crazy things that run guys off. This also makes you prey for unhappily married men, unfortunately. I guess it's hard not knowing what else I can do. I take care of my looks, I help my parents, I work, and I go to school. Most importantly I'm tender hearted for God. If all of that isn't enough then what is?

Maybe it has something to do with where you live. The Pacific Northwest is desperate for femininity in any form, though the percentage of Christian men is admittedly less. Best wishes to you, Emily

@@johnnybohemospotatoorchest2041 maybe. Maybe it's a Western male demasculinzation thing. I've lived in other parts of the world (specifically Latin America and the Middle East) and if a girl is pretty and feminine, that's enough. The guys are assertive in pursuing. Game, set, match. My relationship in my early 20s was with a Lebanese guy who made it official after the first date. No ghosting, no breadcrumbing, no mixed signals. But religious differences ended that relationship. Then I move back to the States and the guys are a lot more wishy washy, flaky, and lack a lot of self awareness. Attention spans seem to be shorter too. They complicate things that shouldn't be complicated. Ultimately, American guys are just harder to deal with than their foreign counterparts. But we'll see what God has in store for me.

@@emilyl6746A lot of what you say makes sense, and I am the last person to give advice. It's just that I have found that geography makes such a massive amount of difference in this area, at least inside the United States. I always tell women to move to Alaska, though I realize that's easy to say. You're certainly right about the de-masculinization and the American attention span. That may be part of the issue. Just keep praying. And try to have compassion for those weak and demasculinized guys. They need it.

The church doesn't know how to deal with people who are single past 30. I'm 38 and there's no place for me in the average church.

Unfortunately, that is true. But I will say the singles group that I led had many people in their mid to late 30s and 40s. If one doesn't currently exist, maybe you could ask the pastor about starting one.
