RJ is amazing in FIBA. He won the u19 World Cup for Canada against USA. RJ and Dillon are better fiba players than nba players, same with olynyk. If Jamal can bring 15ppg then Canada should get silver. If he can’t, then it’s gonna be a tough battle for Canada against the top teams

Guys I agree you should focus on the game and at the same time accept the truth and don't try to cover it. The plain truth is that Canada had a favorable referering during the first half. They got some calls that Greece didn't get. The refs didn't have the same standards on the first half. This is a fact and you cant deny it. Your argument that Canada's best players were fouled out an so the refering was good is at least ridiculus. On the other hand you are correct about Greece, something was missing and this was the good performance from another player especially in shooting. This doesn't mean that Greece needs another player. If only 2 guys made one more 3 pointer the match would be different. You don't need Dorsey or Sloukas to be able to have a better percentage in 3 point shots. Guys like Laretzakis or Toliopoulos can do better and even Calathes and Walkup can do better also. So dont hold your breath. And yes calathes-Walkup was not a good choice for this match but that doesnt mean they will be the same thing during the next matches where the defenses will be different.

I think Canada is a team that will get better as the tournament goes. They only had 3 tune up games leading up to the Olympics which I think is the lowest of any team. If Murray gets going and blend with the team then for me they will make the gold medal game.

So I guess teams that have played together the year before should not bother playing exhibition games and go straight to tournament play.

I was watching my team, Hellas, shamelessly dumping the ball to Giannis after a certain point, expecting him to pull the chestnuts out of the fire. Giannis has matured in basketball during a period when the national team suffers from a shortage of quality players or has talented players like Sloukas injured. It is a shame that in an era when we have one of the best basketball players in the world, we cannot support him adequately.
This is why it is important to have experience playing against American players all season. German players has. If Thanasis isn't injured he could've defended Shai better than Papanikalao..he would bring energy and elite defense.

Guys, we started soft, we don't take advantage of the open spots and we are missing Sloukas. He could help with the 3points and free throws. Our shooting was off from everyone other than Pap. Thank God we lost by that match. I think Moraitis should play in this game. Making it through the group will be a real success for us.
Why are people shocked that Greece and Serbia struggled? Those teams have 1-2 superstars and are otherwise very weak across the roster and prone to be exploited. The only teams with medal chances are well rounded teams like USA, Canada, Germany and Australia

come on guys Canada played not only intense but over the foul limit and the refs didnt gave Greece too many fouls. Most of the faults that refs did where against the Greek team. On the other side when Canada was attacking especially in the first half they gave them to many easy fouls.
Serbia needs to play much more physical than they do right now.. They have a lot of talent but to beat USA they first need to have very bad shooting night and you need to put everything, like all crazy shots.. I didn't like how Serbian players did not fight back physically, they were too soft.. Greece with Sloukas would beat Canada but this Greece got only 2 people who can score..

But honestly team USA just has too many horses. Someone will be left off. It’s not like Kerr, just closed his eyes and pointed at one random guy to not play in the game. This didn’t come out of the blue. Tatum was terrible in the last two preseason games and he wasn’t even that great in the finals.
