This 1995 Electra Glide seems to have through a time machine.
My book “Josie’s Journey” is a not a motorcycle book, but rather a spiritual tale told in the story of one man’s journey to freedom. However, Josie’s is not a flowery yarn, nor does it venture anywhere near the sterile cleanness or deep phycological thought of many spiritual books:

Harley Davidson should give you a free bike brand new. You are the best ambassador for Harley Davidson in history. They should be ashamed and embarrassed that they haven’t come to you.

The headlight plug is black plastic and will melt. Can be replaced with a ceramic plug. I haven't had any heat problems but my carb is rejetted and I don't run my lower fairings.

You should definitely auction off the Mule. You can kit the new bike out just like you want it and buy a sh!t-load of gas for what some collector will be willing to pay for The One, The Only, Scooter Tramp Scotty's ride. She'll be in somebody's private "museum" of scooter related stuff.... I run the Progressive cartridge forks in my 06 XL1200 and like them. I can't really say just how big a difference the new forks made, since I changed out the shocks at the same time, but it is definitely night and day difference between stock and all new Progressive suspension. The made in USA stuff they sell has a lifetime warranty, so that's a big plus. My scoot is the last year for factory carbed bikes, and I love the simplicity. I need me one of them starter buttons for a just in case.... I wonder how that plastic air cleaner backplate will hold up down south? My guess is, you'll be putting a CV on her soon. Not wishin you any bad luck on what you have, but I just don't trust all that crap and them miles of wire and sensors. She looks mighty fine!

Congrats on the “new” bike. I believe’95 was the first year of the MM fuel injection. My current ride for the last 23 years is a ‘98 police edition road king with the MM fuel injection. I’m fully aware of the bad rap that the MM injection gets. One thing I have found, is that there is a mechanical aspect to this fuel injection system. Even though it’s fuel injection, it’s not a fly by wire like the newer Delphi systems. There is still a mechanical linkage that’s subject to looseness and slop that occurs through normal wear and tear. The manual says not to attempt to adjust the linkage. I found that anytime the bike has any issue with poor idle or sluggish performance under acceleration, was fixed simply adjusting the linkage until all slop and play and is removed. At 35,000 mi. I installed a EV27 cam, lifters, cam bearing upgrade, and adjustable pushrods. I also replaced the plastic breather gear with a stainless one. I also added a DFO which enhanced my throttle response. I now have 66,000 miles on it and she runs great! I did have a crank position sensor go out at about 50,000 miles. $130 and 1 hr labor (myself) and she was back on the road and has been running great since. The MM fuel injection gets a bad rap, but so far, I love mine. Of course, just like everything else that’s old, parts are getting scarce. Good luck with your “new” ride. Just remember that any mods you do ie; pipes, cam, and etc. will require some tuning. Happy trails!

SCOTTY LOAD THE BLUE MULE WITH ALL OF YOUR TRAVELING GEAR, JUST LIKE YOU WHERE GOING ON A LONG RIDE, AND SHOW CASE IT AT A BAR OR BIKER GATHERING, WITH A DONATION BOX. SO RIDERS CAN SEE AND LEARN HOW TO TRAVEL LIGHT, WHAT TO BRING AND NOT BRING, WHAT KIND OF MATERIALS TO USE, I KNOW YOU LIKE MILITARY GRADE STUFF, MAYBE WRITE A BOOKLET ON TRAVELING SMART. IT WOULD BE A GREAT TESTAMENT OF A TRUE SCOOTER TRAMP. MAYBE EVEN SET UP YOUR BOOK STAND BESIDE IT. THAT WAY YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BE THERE AND IT WILL BRING IN EXTRA INCOME. I'D PAY $5-$10-$20 TO SEE YOUR SET UP, IM SURE OTHERS WOULD TOO. JUST GET ALL NEW STUFF FOR YOUR NEW BIKE, AND LEAVE THE OLD STUFF ON OLE BLUE, FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. IM SURE YOU KNOW PLENTY OF PLACES YOU CAN PARK OLE BLUE AS A SHOW PEACE, DONATION CENTER AND BOOK SELLING SPOT. YOU PROBABLY TRUSTED PEOPLE WHO CAN LOOK AFTER IT FOR YOU? YOUR A TRUE PIONEER WITH REAL TRAIL AND ERROR EXPERIENCE, SO IS THE BLUE MULE. LET OLE BLUE TELL STORY'S FOR YOU, WHILE YOU CREATE NEW ONE'S. MUCH LOVE BROTHER, I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING. STAY SAFE OUT THERE AND KEEP ON ROCKING AND ROLLING

@okinawadonkichi
@okinawadonkichi 3 месяца назад
Dude, you may want to get your bike looked at. If you are normally running in the 270s (oil temp) at highway speeds you may have an issue. 270 head temp is more in the normal range for an M8, albeit getting closer the high side. If you are stock, get an exhaust that gets rid of the catalytic converter and get a tune. My 103 twinky runs at 170-190 oil temp at normal highway speeds, above 90 for extended periods I will get to 210-230 (max), this is with no cat, upgraded oil cooler (UltraCool), and a tune (mo' gas). 225 oil temp equates roughly to about 280-290 head temp on an M8.
