Stu Phillips - Battlestar Galactica Theme [Extended by Gilles Nuytens]
This is an extended version of the theme of the TV show « Battlestar Galactica » (1978) composed by Stu Phillips. This is the original music, extended by myself from the original soundtrack. The 2 disco remix versions (Stu Phillips/Giorgio Moroder) are coming next!
Note: For this one I had the pleasure to receive the feedbacks from the composer himself, Mr Stu Phillips, which was a great honor for me. And he liked it! « Nicely done. Hey can you Make extended version of a song that played in Lego Ninjago ep3 snake bite? It only runs for about 5 seconds and then its off but could you create more of that song? It plays from Lloyds green radio

Thank you... Brings back memories of my childhood.. Here in Germany they got 3 movies in cinemas... They took the pilot as whole film and then two episodes together for one movie 😃... With a new sound system in the theaters it was soooo cool.... The whole room was vibrating when the battleship was shown... And the music!!!! I loved it and still do...

I remember that well. It was called Sensurround en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensurround Ich sah die Filme in Frankfurt am Main im Royal Kino. 879 seats and a large wide screen for old 70mm classics from Lawrence of Arabia, 2001 to modern movie until it closed. A lot of fond memories from that golden age of movie theaters which is gone for good. Imax is not bad but it is still not the same as nothing beats the width of 70mm films.

Thank you so much for this nice piece even it still felt too short for me. :) Just the end was fizzing a bit out unceremoniously. With the big bang at the beginning it also deserved the big bang ending, just saying. Still great work. :) Now I would just love to get an extended version from the remake from Bear McCreary - Passacaglia as that piece keeps giving me goose bumps. Plllllease

I tried hard to end it differently with the "bang", but whatever I did, it didn't feel right. Adding another part to be able to get that bang felt redundant. Whatever I tried didn't work. My first version was 30 seconds longer with that "bang", but then, it felt repetitive and Stu Philips said it was too long for him. So, I followed the advice of the composer and shortened it a bit.

@@GillesNuytens with the 'bang' mean how the main theme normally ends. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vzyHxYxc-Mo.html I didn't know about Stu's reflection on his own work, personally I find his ending fine for his theme piece. Maybe the trick could be to use some softer variant which exist from Stu int he extended version but still let it have its original 'bang' ending. But that way you could avoid that it feels too long. Just some thoughts. Maybe some parts from this nice version. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BZUDQBamLWQ.html It could add to the bombast tunes also that nice mystical elements the opening titles/prologue had so it avoid to get too repetitive.

I know what you mean but as I said, I already tried. I made a prior version with a bang added to this here. I removed it because it didn't feel right/natural. I agree that it would be better with it but adding it made other problems.

@@GillesNuytens It's ok. I believe you. It was just some creative rambling from my side. Mixing and rearranging is not so easy, especially with so many notes and limited source material on the other. I still hope you can make an extended version of Bear McCreary's Passacaglia if possible. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WSYPYq9D_No.html Your channel with all those obscure soundtracks most ignore brings back so many memories after I collect soundtracks since 1978, expanding it later also to game soundtracks as well since the time of the C64 and forward. Back then I learned very early to never judge a movie for its soundtrack and vice versa. I always said that even a bad movie or game can be still useful for an amazing soundtrack It's damn sad to see how many people ignore a LOT of good music because of the hyped main stream stuff.
