Several days a week I have the honor of sharing music with patients, families and hospital staff--making the day just a little nicer--sometime a WHOLE LOT NICER! I like to play the Ukulele, but also I also bring my Guitar, Didgeridoo and Tibetan Singing Bowls to patients.

I've had some great experiences with music touching peoples lives recently. Not long ago, my band (www.waterparxmusic.com) performed at an elderly folks home in Los Angeles. It was an amazing experience. And a few weeks after that, I played piano and sang for my grandfather and the other people at his nursing home in Rochester, NY. Music has the power to take people out of their surroundings and place them into a different state of being. It's like magic! I've always wanted to sing for people in the hospital but I haven't done it because I would be hugging them and crying and just turn into a blubbering ol' mess ;-) You are simply wonderful, Stu Fuchs.

You're wonderful Jen - that's amazing service work you're doing...I'll be they loved you...you & your band sound amazing! It's hard to keep from hugging the patients I would work with (and often I wouldn't stop it either ;) The connections we make in these moments of musical sharing are deep & ling lasting....as you know very well. Take care & hope our paths cross someday. I'm playing in LA on Thurs 10/19 - supporting Snatam Kaur, (a wonderful singer of Sikh song & devotional yogic kirtan music) www.stufuchs.com/calendar I would put you +1 on the list, but the promoter has no more comp tix to give the band :(

So kind of you to even consider me like this! Thank you! Unfortunately I am busy on the night of the 19th anyway. (I have been hired as a biker/actor for the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride for the month of October!)
