I’m pretty sure that the people in red coats are audience members (I’m basing this solely on the way they’re acting) so it definitely alines with his joy of audience participation taken from Great Comet

I heard that, as part of his planned "Impossible Trilogy", his third adaptation(after War and Piece and this) will be of James Joyce's Ulysses! Being in one of those boats was one of the only highlights of my 2020 😭❤️. Glad they didn’t get the video of the night I was there, though, was basically fangirling out the whole time.

All I want is to see more footage of this or at least a recorded song.....ughhhh I love Dave Malloy and this cast so much. Seeing Starr and Nick was so cool, they have such gorgeous voices!! Also I swear I recognize the person singing with the pipe in their mouth, but it might not be who I think it is.

Honestly I would never have conceived the idea of a Moby Dick musical myself, but it's such a PERFECT book for the medium. I would love the chance to see this live sometime. I hope it comes back!

Participatory art is magical and weird and my god do I want to sit in a boat and be pulled around the stage for 2 hours wow. Like what a WEIRD and AMAZING way to use the auudience.
