@@WilliamStewart1 so I'm pretty new to sledding, I have a skidoo formula plus 1991. this year it snowed a fuckton where I live. I used to go to a lake to play around but now there's over 4 feet of snow on it. when I went attempted to go on the lake, I followed my buddies path and eventually came to a stop because my running board got hung up on the snow and the track was just floating at that point. Did i mess up by following his trench? his sled sits higher than mine, so my running boards were probably already scraping on this path he made. I'm not sure I would of fared better just going my own route. I'm definitely not going back to find out lol. so basically short tracks are useless in deep snow? my buddy has a smaller engine, smaller "paddles" but long track and he never got stuck that day at all. :(
@@frapsATV the long track really helps the sled float on top of the snow, regardless of engine size and paddles. short tracks are usually better in trails. short tracks will go decent for a bit in powder but you gotta be on the throttle hard.
