The dry riverbed, which was deceptive in its appearance, proved to be more treacherous than anticipated. Our Hilux, while built for rugged terrains, got bogged down in the sand, leaving us stranded and in need of assistance. With no immediate way to free the vehicle on our own, we turned to the helpful staff at the Brandberg Mountain Country Resort.
The lodge staff responded swiftly, and with the aid of a powerful truck, we were finally able to extract our Hilux from the sand. This unexpected adventure was a reminder of the unpredictable nature of off-roading and the importance of having a support network when tackling challenging terrains.
