Thank you so much. 2012 Kia. Been trying everything to remove the key. Removed to positive cable from the battery, turned like starting it and turned it off and the key came right out. You are awesome.
Hey I know this is kind of late but as a Kia Tech I've seen a lot of these off the most actually have issues with the shifter. There is a micro switch which detects whenever the shifter reaches the park position and if that micro switch is bad it will not release that little pin in that cylinder to remove the key there might be a way to order just that little micro switch on that shifter assembly but usually what we do is just replace the whole assembly as it's usually under warranty when we have these issues
