Love the video. The keys on woodwind instruments used to scare me (a brass player), but your videos are helping me understand them better! Keep up the great work!

great video! im a brass player but its always interesting to see how woodwind keys work. do you think you could make a video on how to fix large dents, like on the bell and bell throat of a baritone/euphonium/tuba?

Good suggestion. I will try to do a video of that as soon as I get a repair like that in my shop.

Do you have any tips for getting hinge rods unstuck on a saxophone? I have a Bundy II alto that I'm practicing taking apart and putting back together but there are two pesky hinge rods that won't budge and I can't take off any more keys.

I hope to do some videos on that within the next few months. It is hard to say how to fix your hinge rods because it all depends on why they are stuck and how stuck they are. Also, it is easy to cause damage or minor hand injuries if it is not done correctly. The only thing that I would try (before watching videos on the various techniques) is: 1 put some penetrating oil on the ends of the rod 2 hold your screwdriver in the end of a visegrip 3 twist it back and forth LIGHTLY being careful not to go to far or let the screwdriver slip and make a hole in your hand or the instrument 4 if this does not work, wait for the videos to come out on this subject or 5 take it to a repair shop and be prepared to be scolded for trying it yourself
