Exactly, she's blowing this WAY out of proportion. That deer was moving at speed, it looked panicked. Poor kid, at least he wasn't severely injured by it slamming into him
This happens. I got run over by a deer dashing off my property in a panic. I was not seriously hurt but the impact was painful and startling. I told my friends and family that grandma got run over by a reindeer.

Probably looking for a reason to sue. But you can’t even see the little boy in the video and the only reason we know it’s her son is because she’s doing a news. Interview. I can’t imagine that any lawsuit would have merit. It happened outside and it’s not against the law to record. What’s in public view.
Schools across the US have strict privacy policies for both students and staff. This is a breach of this policy and she has every right to file a lawsuit against the school and definitely has a case. It's all fun and games and internet "experts" until it's you.
This was not an "attack", it was an accident where a deer appeared to be panicking, tried to jump the boy, but ran into him That deer was not "very large", it was a fawn. If that had been a large deer, this would've been a lot worse Mother is blowing this all out of proportion. I feel sorry for the kid and hope he recovers soon from those bruises

Just a side note, this news station WCHS also couldn't have shown the footage without the mom's permission. I'm not sure why she would be upset about it being leaked on TikTok but OK with granting permission to a news agency to air it.
Pretty scary for a young boy. I hope he will understand the humor of this as he grows. My husband hates shopping as most of them do so while I was shopping, he decided to go behind the walmart to test run his new toy(drone) he was setting on s log getting his drone ready for flight. When he stood up to launch, a deer jumped over a fence and that deer and my husband had a head on collision that landed them both on their bums. The deer was dazed and my husband was "wtf just happened here?" In his own dazed and confused moment. Both were un-hurt and hubby has a funny story to share with the grand kids.
I can't imagine the fear and shock that poor little boy experienced. But... as a parent, I'd be more concerned about a video leaking of my very young child than an innocent petrified deer accidentally colliding with him.
How many people have access to the security camera video? Shouldn't be very difficult to find the one responsible for the leak, unless school security is lax.
Parents need to sign consent forms for their children to be photographed or recorded for public use/distribution while on school grounds or at a school function. Most schools have that rule, even universities.
School policy doesn't supercede the law however. It all boils down to; is it considered a public space with no expectations of privacy. Policy is only gonna help suspend the violators if applicable.

It’s called free speech. You can say anything and you can videotape anything and public. I would be glad to have that video to show my son years later.
You can't video tape anything. I can 100% assure you the school has a policy against recording from the security footage and posting it online. And that employee deserves a write up for doing it.

We are such a litigious society and people are so opportunistic that we can’t turn around without worrying about someone wanting to sue us for something. She shouldn’t have given an interview or allowed her child’s face to be shown if she were concerned about his privacy being “violated.” Give her 1.00 for her trouble.
That was not a large deer and it wasn't attacking. That was a full run likely out of fear by a very small young deer. It was barely the size of the boy. And yes, I know because I have worked with deer at a rescue.

the deer wasn't "aiming" for him, it was fleeing in fear and it clearly tried to avoid the child but his hoof clipped the boy. i saw spots - baby deer. let's hope Micheal simply goes on having a unique story to tell
The deer didn't attack him, if you actually look at the video you can see that the deer was startled and made a dash to get away from the students... Unfortunately the deer couldn't jump high enough over the child... But the deer certainly did not attack the child... Put your common sense caps on.. that year was so scared he was running for his life
That deer was trying to leap over him, but didn’t get the clearance it needed. Poor baby! I hope he’s able to get therapy, so he doesn’t have PTSD throughout his life.
Watch someone demand the deer be k*lled... when the deer is a baby and the human child is a baby in my eyes. What do people expect when we live amongst animals as animals.

We keep seeing videos of people who work in school, hospitals and daycares posting videos of the students or patients usually making fun of them. It’s a shame that immature people with no respect for privacy are easily able to get these jobs.
He wasn’t attacked. But as a vehicle owner been hit twice by deer, I’ll let the parents know that the front right quarter panel and hood damage is $5,000.00+ 😊 you’re welcome. What a great life story!
Fawns and deer can panic and run wildly, even skidding on concrete and pavement. It was not an attack. Sorry this little man was hit. I hope it doesn’t turn him against deer.
I hate it when I say proper consequences. What does that even mean, nothing. If anybody gets monetization from that video it should be HIS MOM, not some office secretary or security guard.
It was a young Fawn, likely startled by someone off camera/(i.e. the direction the woman came running from) The Young Dear was NOT attacking, but Fleeing, and they cannot stop/turn on a dime. The Young fawn tried to Jump and clear the child, unfortunately not attaining the needed height and its left front leg/hoof made contact. Glad to see both will recover. The young man will have a tale to tell for life.
Bless his heart! Man that was quite a hit😮 Whomever posted the surveillance video needs to be reprimanded + any monies made from video should be given to the family. Shouldn't be hard at all for the school district to find out who did this.

Not an attack, deers run through car windows and glass windows all the time. Poor boy though that still looks like it hurt bad since the boy is so little. Cool story to tell as you get older though

How did they determine this was an “attack”? Did it leave a manifesto? It was just trying to jump over the kid to avoid what ultimately ended up happening, that’s all.
People need to quit feeding these animals. Just because they're cute doesn't mean they're safe. They belong in the woods, not the city. Now they have no fear of humans. In another video there was a fawn stomping out a dog. That could very well happen to a kid if people don't wisen up.
