"I started my Microbiology degree at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the first two years was fully online. However, once I was finally able to step onto campus I found myself in an incredibly welcoming and bright community. I consider there to be two major highlights to my time at U of M. The first is the Microbiology Student's Club, which gave me a second home on campus and allowed me to explore my leadership potential while making a real difference in other students' lives. The second highlight is involvement in the vast UM research community. The amazing mentors I've had the pleasure of working with allowed me to earn opportunities that I will be forever grateful for. I look forward to carrying my rich undergraduate background forward to excel in my upcoming grad studies at the University of Toronto." - Aakash Natarajan
