I am so nervous to student teach this fall. I feel like it'll be so different and not the average experience because of covid, but I know I'll learn a lot and be able to adapt to new circumstances. Love the student teaching tips!!

I think the relationship with students question was interesting because at my college every semester (for all 8) you have an in class placement to gain more experience. So you get to practice building student relationships the entire time your in undergrad

Go Ichabods! I start student teaching in two days. I'm going through Washburn in the Para to Teacher program. Transitioning from a Paraeducator to a teacher has its own set of worries. Love that I found your videos.

Hey Emma! I am from Topeka, so I was surprised to hear that you went to Washburn. I have friends that went there and they absolutely loved it. Most of them got jobs within the district. I just graduated from KSU a few weekends ago and I recently got my first teaching job in a small town about twenty minutes away. I just stumbled across your videos the other day and they have been so helpful. Keep it up! :)

Hi Emma! I am currently on week 2 of my student teaching for elementary SPED. I know you are not a SPED teacher but when it came to student teaching and you took over the classroom, did you have to teach your own lesson plans for the remainder of the time? Or just when you ran the class full time? and for how long? I am worried that I am not doing enough and I don't want to step on any toes or interrupt.

Hello Emma, Thank you for all of these videos! they have been so helpful. I am going to be student teaching this coming January!!! very excited, but... I am 32 years old. Do you think there is anything I need to be ready for because I am older - such as other teachers reactions. Have you worked with or met a new teacher that was older then 25? Were you paid to take student teaching? I'm going to call around but I'm terrified if I'm in the classroom all day Monday - Friday that I won't be able to hold a job and pay my rent/bills.
