A couple of years ago, James Ramage began wearing suits to Chelsea Elementary School. This fall, that trend caught on and evolved into "Dapper Wednesdays."
That sounds like such a great school! And they've begun a great tradition, thanks to James & the other great kids in the school! 🙂 And people are even contributing clothing to the Dapper Closet! I think it's so good for the children to become comfortable wearing formal clothes, & and they notice how wonderful the clothing makes them feel.
That is wonderful that the school will do such a great thing. To say that a child can wear what he or she wants to wear because it is who they are. I beg the differ when any Indigenous student who graduates at any school will wear their traditional attire to represents who they are and what society they represent. They are ostracized for the attire they wear like placing feathers on their caps. Many Indigenous students attend school within urban settings which school don't support the identity of students who proudly want to show who they are as individuals. Many school deem they are not following their so called dress code they are penalized and many student are not given their diploma because they are dressing Indigenous traditional attire many may have witnessed such disrespect for individuals. Take this into consideration for what many Indigenous people go through.
It was a little like this, before 1968 Although, boys didn't wear ties, but slacks, and shirts No Denim/tshirts We used to have, free Fridays..when girls wore pants, with a dress over them, in elementary
There's no point in having the suit if the parents can't give their kids a proper haircut too match.🤨 Give them boys a proper high and tight or at least cleancut.
