These are machines that were in storage at the Italian RAI, they will use them for the analogue to digital transfer of the audio files. If I'm not mistaken, they were at the Turin production site.
Since I dont see it mentioned, Where did these machines come from? Did a company have a warehouse of them sitting? Did someone hoard them and then die? Whats the story. Its not often you can find just 1 or 2 NOS in the box like that.
Human greed is to blame. Avarice is cool, pay less and less, want more and more ... I have hi-fi equipment that has been working flawlessly for 40 years. Music cassette player Walkman that still works after 30 years ... Studer and Revox were produced in Switzerland. At a time when quality was very important. These machines, if properly maintained, will still run flawlessly after 30 years. What is today ? Today, flat-screen TVs with a diameter of more than one meter often cost less than 300 euros if you do not take any brand names. These and other devices are made to decay and break shortly after the guarantee. Man is to blame for this misery himself because he hardly wants to spend any more on things that have been produced for a long time. AND I VERY MISS THIS TIME.
If those would’ve been on eBay you’re looking at almost 2/4 of $1 million that could’ve been made with selling them on eBay because that brand is very highly sought after why they don’t make them today I don’t know?
