My family came out of the Nation. My mother actually accepted Sunni Islam first. She joined the Nation for it's organization structure in general. And in particular it's emphasis on protecting women. Near the end of Elijah Muhammad's life we lived in Chicago. Alhumdulilah ! both parents today are practicing Muslims in their 70's.
@@Big_Ahk_israr1 Did you read the first sentence he explain his parents left the Nation of Islam aka Nation of Ignorance I already know about Master Fard or Fraud Mohammad's teachings and his student Elijah Robert Poole Mohammad who had a 3rd grade education ,I already know about the transition of the organization in 1975 when Warithudeen Mohammad took over some people seem to forget Louis Abdul Haleem Farrakhan was under WD leadership then he secretly broke away from WD's community to re-establish the N.O.I.original teachings in 1977 he brought along a hand full of hardcore members who were dissatisfied with the direction of WD's community so they got back with Farrakhan the charismatic liar who always makes indirect insulting statments about Hajj Malik Shabazz & thier Family members he ( Farrakhan) has made Hajj a few times then comes back to the States I still claims EM is the Messenger of Allah, eventually his organization will collapse when he passes away.

I think there’s something else that should be noted is that when some black Africans were coming here and a percentage were Muslims, we have to also consider the Moors who were coming back and forth to North America were Muslims as well and some of them were upon those boats and became enslaved too . There’s way more to the history here in this land than a small piece of what many like to speak about . Also many black Americans we’re already here and are considered Americans Indians and have indigenous roots in this land of North America 🇺🇸. I think all those things needs to be mentioned as well as how much Islam was present here in America and the secret societies, lodges we’re using Islamic text and themes and practices for many years here !
Islam was known and practised amongst African Americans from the get go. Many of the slaves that were bought over from Africa were learned in Islam and practising Muslims. They could read, write Arabic and recite the Quran. Kunta Kinte was a Muslim.
