We invited our guitarist friends to try our 10 watt, single ended valve Studio 10 Series.
Here is their reaction.
Studio 10 EL34:
Influenced by history’s most iconic amplifiers, the 10W single-ended Studio 10 EL34 is a low gain, classic British crunch amp with an EL34 in the power amplifier and an ECC83 in the preamp stage, resulting in a flawlessly boutique, sultry crunch. Studio 10 6L6:
Influenced by history’s most iconic amplifiers, the 10W single-ended Studio 10 6L6 deploys a 6L6 output valve and an ECC83 in the preamp stage to give this amp a distinctively American bright clean sound and searing lead tone. They all comment on how big the sound is did anyone else notice the big room with the wood flooring acoustics matter. :)

Sold my HT20 head & Fender Bassbreaker 15 Combo to fund the purchase of the Studio 10 EL34 (with a little change in my pocket after buying the 10 😀 ) Can't wait for it to arrive!

Just bought the kt88 version.. holy shit was i surprised. The cleans are beautiful, the distortion is huge and nice. I play it in a band against bass, drums and a rhythm guitar. Totally enough volume. Idk blackstar but this amp is like heaven to me. Thanks!

I already have purchased the HT5R MK2, and simply love it...the 12" speaker does so much for it! I may just get the Studio 10 6L6. Knowing the specs of THIS amp as well, which also has a 12" speaker (being a Celestion) really makes it for me. I should be covered "amp wise" the sound that these BLACKSTAR Studio amps deliver is better than sex!!!! Well, almost...

now i know why the prices of the existing artisan 10 has gone down ,,,,,these are replacing them,,,now the delema do i buy the artisan 10 now or wait until these hit the shops ??? are they any different or just a new name,,,, i do love the sound of the artisan 10,,,for a 10watt class A amp i was super impressed

Wonder ..even with its simple setup...will it be an amp techs worst nightmare come service time? Thinking id rather go 2 extra large on a handwired point to point made in USA. The KT88 one does sound awesome..they all do really..

Sure looks that way, same preamp & power tubes, same speakers, same controls, different skin. PSA- the Artist (6L6) is discounted $200 off right now. Great time to get one.

What a beautiful video. So let me get this straight...each amp has different gain stages, and the KT88 has the most gain?

Yes. Artisan- British, Artist- American, One- High Gain (aimed to model the Blackstar S1 200)

I don't think the KT-88 has the most gain. They have HUGE headroom! It's like an American Fender sound with glassier highs. KT-88's were specifically designed for hi-fi musical gear in the UK.. They replaced KT-66"s which are actually smaller. The %13 EDT 13/29 is a KT66 amp I once had and I'd never in my life owned an amp with a stronger bass output.. Yet the highs were equally powerful without harshness. It was absolutely amazing. I wish I never let go of it.. Which is why I'm eye-balling the Blackstar KT88. Different pedigree than the %13 but I'm hopeful knowing the musicality of the KT-88

Colin Mortimore The cream one is 6L6, the black one is EL34 and the green one is KT88.

Are they available in the U.S.A now? Will they be showcased at NAMM this month? I'm going to NAMM. Love the Blackstar Amps! Greetings from Hollywood California!

These lot are totally exaggerating how good these amps are. I have a 6L6 version and its OK. Sounds like one small amp not a wall of amps as Jordan said.. Anything past 12 o'clock on the ISF sounds incredibly strident and is unusable. The Cheap speaker doesn't help at all, the amp is much better with a Creamback in it. It's not really loud enough or should I say it doesn't have enough mid range to cut through at my local jam session. I paid £349 used. Which is fine. But these are not worth the £629 Andertons are currently charging in the UK. Its ok for home use and mic'd up for recording, these guys have obviously been paid to gush about these amps as they are no where near as good as they are making out.
