@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz Can we find out the brand of that sports bra? LOVING the beautiful strappy back, I would love to get one for yoga and such!
Rachel is the friend we all need! I love how she always tactfully says, "Watch yourself in the comments because if you come for my friends, I'm coming for you, m'kay 😁"
I need friends like her, I seriously have none! My BF I haven't seen in a year and we live ten miles apart she won't see me do to Covid restrictions and her busy work husband life but we talk almost every day. I let all my other friends go because it was really one sided and they had alcohol or other issues weird community I was hanging with for years. I now realize I need normal healthy friends like myself they are hard to find.
This just reenforced two things for me. Every person has such a unique need and want for their space. I really love my minimal space and lack of clutter. It’s so interesting how beautiful those gallery walls are and yet I’m over here also in love with my beautiful blank walls.
Huge respect to you for being able to decorate and diy for your friend who has a totally different decor aesthetic to you. Thankyou for listening to her - she's got a great style and it really helps to see all sorts of styles that one can work to rather than just what's new and trendy.
I almost screamed when I saw it, like that's the crowning jewel of any space it's in. A multinational corp. office, a gallery, a mansion, or a small rented apartment. It's a work of art in itself.
I just love how you respect people's spaces! Her eclectic style is right up my alley. I adore thrifting and buying what brings me joy. My sitting room is becoming my dream room. I have 'all the things'! As always you, and Lindsey, soz if spelt wrong, have done it! And you lovelies working together makes me happy for you. Whichever room you tackle next is fine with me...as long as you video it lol!
I am so excited to bring you on this renter-friendly adventure of my best friend's studio! We kicked it off with exactly how she likes it done by using everything that she has already and re working the space. I can't wait to tackle her room, kitchen, bathroom and office area! What room should I tackle next in her space?
I really love her space and love how you did it with 0$ spend, plus enhance what she already had but not change the space she love and the things she took time to put into her home. I love this updo! Thank you for allowing us to view your home transformation.
I love her shaved head! Yes not relevant but she looks amazing as does the space. I'm constantly in awe of your talents. I'm that sort who watches but just admires. I don't have your skillset but I have been picking up tips when I watch your videos! I also admire how versatile you are and how creative you are with what you do. Some people stick to one bland style but you are quite adaptable and flexible. I wish I was more creative with my art; ie I don't have much! Been over a year since I moved in and I take inspiration from others to constantly improve it... Thanks for sharing :)
Dude. I teared up the SECOND she walked through the door 🤷🏼♀️ ... Something about the way she carries herself ugh. What a light. I'm such a baby. LOVE THIS.
This is what most people do to decorate their home, use what they have. You did a great job and I’m glad you recorded this for people who feel they can’t make their space their own!
I really appreciate her style. Sometimes I look at Pinterest overly-styled photos and I think to myself, “what about their.. stuff?” I have so much art and vintage 50s glassware and my grandfathers handmade candlesticks/clocks/cabinets, etc that the minimal life is not for me. I want to showcase the objects that I hold dear. Excited to see the rest of this space. Thank you Tonya for sharing it with us!
I love the respect you are giving your friend by doing what she asks and also by letting commenters know to be kind. It’s a great space and wonderful to show how to fine tune a space for maximum space. Well done. Enjoy the day.
I love how respectful you are Rachel! And showing a space with nothing new being added is also really inspirational when you just want to switch things up a bit and you're on a budget.
Beautiful 🥺! It wasn’t until I found Rachel’s RU-vid did I get out of my comfort zone! I went from solid black gray and white, to greens, natural woods, adding different types of decor, etc!
Have you watched Drew at Lone Fox? He has similar style and both he and Rachel have inspired me. He does a lot of DIY on a budget. Rachel's just so great 🥺
Rachel, you are the best friend everybody could ask for. So cool of you to do this for your besties and good for us because we can enjoy these lovely makeovers.
Love that you're doing no-spend makeovers! I've been slowly rearranging my space to better fit working from home, and definitely am now inspired to make an even bigger change by utilizing what I already own.
I adore her style!!! And I admire how much you can make something beautiful even if it isn't your own personal style and how much you respect your clients and friends personal style and are somehow able to make the space you make over reflect their characters
i love that you are tackling an eclectic style, i've been trying to find inspo for my room and this is amazing! i need morrreee! also thank you tanya for sharing your sacred space i love it & you ♥️
Honestly love that you completely gave that place a new life with things she already owned?? Her taste is 👌🏼👌🏼 and you just fine tuned it. Excited for the next episode.
I love to see other people's spaces and even when the style is different to mine I can appreciate other people's taste and creativity. It's amazing that she's been able to thrift all of those things. I can't wait to see what you change next.
Love how you watch out for and look after your friends. I have mad respect for you Rachel! You’re amazing. 🥰. Wish I had your talent for making over a room!
This is one of my favorites. I love how your love for her and her own tastes and preferences shaped how the room came out. It’s so much more authentic than most of what we see. ❤️
I love her space!! The little details that you've created for her, you've certainly made it divine... I can't wait to see more of what you'll be creating for her.. Thank you to you both for sharing her private and personal space 🙏
It’s so beautiful. You did an amazing job! I often wonder how such makeovers can take place in spaces where the person doesn’t want new things and this was a wonderful example of rearranging and an objective streamlined perspective making a huge difference
This made me really emotional ❤️I was homeless for the past 3 years and I only recently found my very own room in a house with a bunch of other girls. I'm in the process of trying to makeover my room (as a renter) to reflect my personality, and it's kind of nice (?) to see other young people who seem to have themselves more "together" than me struggle with their space. And the stuff you said at the end about making your space a home no matter your situation really lovely. This gave me a lot of inspiration and hopefully I can find some cool thrifted finds to add to my room soon!
A great little update to a very creative space! I love how you enhance each space for the owner; it shows how much respect you have for the person and their environment! Cheers to you and your talent! 😃
This is beautiful and shows you don’t have to do too much to transform a space. Some careful thought, switching things out and reorganizing and the other gallery wall made a huge impact. Nicely done ladies!!!
I love her style especially love that she thrifts everything, thrifting is so exciting! She has that really cool effortlessly eclectic style and it’s so cool! Love her space and love that it’s sacred to her
Lone Fox says he’s obsessed with them lol they do have a lot of beautiful and different prints. I need to either paint or pull down my paneling before I can get to this level, lots to do.
This is great! I am on a budget I often switch my decor around in my apartment to add a fresh new vibe! This motivates me to swap my living room around! Love this stuff! Thanks girl!
What an amazing gift to have a fresh set of eyes rethink your space! I love that this was done with decor she already has, makes it very realistic for those of us (🙋🏻♀️) who need to start using all the beautiful items we already own! Thanks for another inspiring video!
Once again I’m honored to be apart of any project you do and lend a helping hand! Love you Friend and I love the way Tanya’s space turned out can’t wait for the bedroom!
I love eclectic styles like this so much more than ones that look too put together. This could still belong in a magazine because it just has so much CHARACTER. I stan ♥
Ahhh, as someone who has bounced around small apartments and small rooms, I absolutely love this! Really inspires me to turn what little I have more into a home and shift my point of view! Thank you!! ✨
Awesome! I love re-doing your space with what you have but re-imagine it! Thanks Tonya for opening your space. Your hair is to die for! Makes me want to cut mine.
LOVE this brillant makeover!! totally cool and fresh!! If she adds a very large tray (or a large cut piece of glass!) to the top of the slatted wood coffee table -- she will add even more usable space there!!
I love it, love the eclectic thriftyness, I love the vibe and I love how she shelters her space. People don't truly understand how important it is to protect your space your home all energy/people should not be invited in. I love it!
A $0 makeover is something I've wanted for forever!!! I'm working on a super tight budget and wanna use what I have. I also hate buying new for environmental reasons. This was great and I cant wait for the next videos!
Thank you for sharing this space. I feel the same way about mine. Love the eclectic style and ways I can showcase special things in my life and my artwork. LOVE IT! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!! I’m excited for the rest of the space!
wooow i love how you decorated it and that you almost just jused stuff, your görl already had. so inspiring :) shoutouts to your last words, this is so important to remember while watching a makeover - respect the place, people live in, means so much and is so special in each individual case!
Wow! What an awesome makeover, and I love how you used the things she already had - especially in these crazy times with COVID going on so many of us have a very low or no budget to actually buy all new pieces. I am in the process of rearranging things in my room (I share a 2 bedroom 570sq foot apartment with my sister and her two young kids, and since a big corner of the small living room doubles as my sister's bedroom ALL my stuff - crafting, sewing, business stuff, clothes, bed, desk, etc etc pretty much has to fit in my room, kind of like a tiny 124 sq foot studio lol.) I got some great ideas watching you rearrange things here and thanks to this video think I have figured out a layout in my room where I will be able to fit a small reclining armchair I've been wanting for ages but didn't think I had space for. Keep up the great work!
I totally love this! Her style is just like mine! I love my eclectic rooms! It's so nice to have all your belongings from different times of your life displayed in a unique way! This gave me great ideas for my space thank you!
Rachel, thank you for your videos. It has been such a difficult week, month, year... your videos and confidence to say how you feel and think really being a positive moment to my week!
It’s a symbol of prosperity- “money on the door equals more” 😀 Your door is what you use to enter your home, and enter the world, so what better place to put this intention/reminder Could totally be something different but that was my first thought💫
It's great you work within the client's wants and needs, even if not a style you personally would normally lean towards. A lot of designers try to push themselves on the client. I would have been tempted to edit, but that's not her style, and you lovingly curated within what's true to your friend. I get her being inspired by her past creations. I vote for the bedroom next.
i love the makeover and i love how much random stuff she has because it makes it so easy for the decorating stage. perhaps you could varnish the shelf you put in a dark oak brown colour.
🖤🖤🖤🖤 she has such awesome thrift finds and a great collections of Knick knacks. 😍🛍 love that this is a renter friendly makeover too. Keep the awesome makeovers coming! 👍🏽
Oh my! All I can say! So beautifully done with a Zero $ budget. So, very well done. And just because it was decorated with all her own things ( which are all very beautiful ) it will all be to her liking, because it's hers. I can't wait to see the rest. I love this approach. Zero $ budget because this way, it all belongs to the person already. So if it's there it's because she wants it to be. So it's kinda like rearranging everything instead of remodeling it. This way you save on the project and the client wins because they finally showcase things they otherwise would not have.
