Sometimes it's as simple as traveling a few miles to a more affluent neighbourhood, and thrifting there. People with a higher budget are more free to change their decor often, and will likely have spent more in the first place. A Sally Ann in that certain neighbourhood, for instance, might have very high quality designer garments for about the same price as you'd get something of lower quality new.

Anyone else’s goodwills getting expensive? I was shocked at the prices when I went a couple of weeks ago. Might get that plant for $4 at the gw bins but in the regular store next door it would be $15 minimum!

Yes. I no longer donate my items to Goodwill and I don’t shop there much anymore. I am fortunate enough to have several thrift stores that support veterans so I donate and shop at those stores.

I have been a subscriber for so long on this channel and honestly, no one does it better. I love your style, the way you edit your videos, the way you show us projects that feel like anyone could achieve. I love your aesthetic in your home...the way you happily show your children, your dog, just being a Mom at home demonstrating what we all can achieve on a budget. Just a heads up on those wavy edge bowls from studio McGee: you can find tortilla bowl makers that are exactly the same (just a bit smaller) and spray paint them. I found four at my Goodwill for 25 cents each

You have amazing thrift stores in the US. Here in NZ we don’t have the high end stores and beautiful pieces to ultimately find their way to the second hand shop. I’m in the US and in my area I do not have any decent thrift store. I am always amazed at not only the quality of her finds but also the price. My local thrift store sells Dollar Tree items for much more than they originally cost.

One thought for the faux fur: you could make a fur collar with a snap closure to wear on sweaters. You could make cuffs, too.

Loved everything. For the black vase, perhaps after using a marker to hide the chips, add a little enamel nail polish. Dollar store has inexpensive nail polish, which I've successfully used for outlet covers when I could not find white.

Love your ideas! I envy you such a great finds! I live in UK and we have charity shops in here but they are not even close to the thrift shops in USA in terms of quality and pricing. Here items are overly expensive (honestly more often than not it is better to buy new on sale!) and very poor quality. Some charity shops remind me proper "waste" shops, they gather more awful stuff than dump. To find something nice it's like finding a needle in the stack of hay. And we don't have bins like in USA 😢. Great video as always!👏

You could make a little muff (the kind you put your hands into) and hat for your daughter with the faux fur. I love the risers. You can find old fluted curtain rods, quite thick, in the thrift shops. I have some I'm going to cut for legs.

I love all your hacks. The only thing that I have is a problem which is actually mine, is I see all the stuff that y’all do at the Goodwill but I do not shop at the Goodwill. I give a lot to Goodwill but I don’t shop lol and I guess since the pandemic, I really don’t do a lot of shopping at any stores. But you do make me think about going to the bigger Goodwill that we have here in my hometown. I don't know what city you're in but your Goodwill is awesome! I once found a brand new Magnolia 5x7 wool rug for $39 at a place called Dirt Cheap that sells over stock new items. Do you have one of those stores in your city? Happy new year.

Great question!!! I have a special sack that I stick all of my thrifted textiles in and wash them in my washing machine on the hand wash setting! It’s worked out well so far! I’ve only had one time where the fabric I bought really took a beating in the machine.
