Mili is an incredibly unique and popular Japanese music group that was formed in 2012. The band consists of five members. The vocalist is Cassie Wei, formerly known as momocashew, a Chinese-Canadian who was born in China, raised in Canada, and now lives in Japan. She is also a lyricist. She has a background in software engineering, having studied it and later founded a computer game development company. This may be the reason why Mili is known for having many songs used in games. The other four members of the band are all Japanese: - Yamato Kasai (fka HAMO) - the main composer, main arranger, a lyricist and the guitarist - Yukihito Mitomo - the bassist who joined Mili in December 2013 - Shoto Yoshida - a drummer and percussionist who joined the band at the same time as Mitomo - Ao Fujimori - an illustrator and animator who joined Mili in September 2014. Mili's songs are very diverse, and each song has its own unique charm. One song that is highly recommended to listen to is "Mirror Mirror". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VkdrrxR96d8.html In addition, although not related to Mili, it is recommended to listen to "*** Soda ***" by NIYMORIY, a composer from Japan. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wTO4L-gWSEU.html
I have been wondering where momocashew is. She used to make the best Vocaloid original song and cover song there is! This explained so much!!! As her long fan who didn't even know it was her, I'm so happy she got this far. :3
Just imagine between two worlds as a broadway story. It starts off with this almost Christmas carol, but halfway through the stage just goes dark before flashing to one lone person.
A thing to note about Between Two Worlds It's about one of the character in Limbus Company, Emil Sinclair and Kromer. The song reflects on their thoughts and experience. BUT it also references the book the two were based on, Demian: Story of a Youth. Mili really loves putting symbolism in their songs. Another great example would be Iron Lotus' candies meanings in the lyrics. Also Limbus Company IS a crazy game, especially when you never played a Project Moon game. It might be a gacha but the quality is great. (Warning though, it contains explicit violent contents.) It's about you, Dante, an executive manager who manages 12 'Sinners' throughout The City (a fictional place with 26 districts named after each alphabet) to collect Golden Boughs. Each Canto/Chapter is related to one of the sinner and Between Two Worlds plays during Canto III, Sinclair's chapter during the final boss fight against Kromer. :)
@@mistletoecanary And they also let you farm shards to instant get the identities/E.G.Os Even from the previous paid battlepass ones. Truly the most generous gacha I ever played
@@mistletoecanary That’s not even mentioning you can skip past the entire tutorial and keep resetting until you get something good from the 3 star guaranteed draw
What I love about world.execution(me); is that it is pretty much about an AI that is learning and understanding the concept of love but can never experience it. What hits me, even more, is that it fits very well with a character in Lobotomy Corporation despite Mili not being part of Project Moon “yet”
Mili is unique and beautiful, their music actually pulled me into Project Moon games and oh boy, I am invested in the universe now. I'd love to see your reaction to: "In hell we live, lament" "Iron Lotus" "Gone Angels"
Mili did a few more songs for Project Moon games, and all of them are amazing. Here's the list: 1. String Theocracy 2. From a Place of Love (aka "We don't talk about Love Town") 3. And Then Is Heard No More 4. Iron Lotus 5. Children of the City 6. Gone Angels 7. Poems of a Machine 8. In Hell We Live, Lament Each of those songs are used as themes for specific characters and events. I'd highly recommend giving them a listen.
@@nezzu2656 That wasn't actually for Project Moon specifically It was inspired by the Library of Ruina and written based of its themes, but Project Moon didn't actually ask them to make the song
More Mili, nice! Be careful, people reacting to Mili songs have been getting copyright claims (although if you rely mostly on Patreon that's less of an issue I suppose)
Mili also did another song for Limbus Company called "In Hell we live lament" (the game is a sequel to Library of Ruina, which has more Mili songs like String Theocracy aka the one you already listened to and like 4-5 other songs)
There is an "only vocals" version of "Between Two Worlds" when I first heard it I was immensely impressed with the production! If someone is interested it can be found on Mili's channel
Limbus Company is about hell. And by hell I mean our daily life. Working at a company. Losing friends and family to disagreements. Greed. Zealous hatred. Killing your dreams for success.
Im so glad that more people appreciate Mili, my first intro to Mili is the Ghost In Shell SAC ED by them (Sustain++) and woah by them tbh, their lyric is always so profound.
I love how Mili keeps getting more fans around the world, their music is just so beautiful. I strongly suggest you hear In Hell We live, Lament. Is another theme from Mili for the game Limbus Company
A lot of PM fans learnt about Mili thanks to a certain lone AMV made for world.execute(me) made YEARS before Mili and PM actually met... Or the other way around, the little amateur AMV was what made Mili fans interested in game, whose players were convinced that their favourite artist was BORN for, thematically.
If you want some more Mili songs with really unusual music and messed-up (but morbidly beautiful) lyrics, I highly recommend checking out the songs "Bathtub Mermaid" and "RTRT." They're up there among Mili's best, and are just absolutely stellar yet highly disturbing masterpieces. "Children of the City," another Project Moon song, is also really unique and interesting, and easily my favorite of their Project Moon works.
It's hard to understand Between Two Worlds without playing the game so I will attempt to explain it: It's about torturing your high school femboy crush by perfectly recreating the night you killed his parents(he didn't mind but he still doesn't like you a whole lot).
The first time I knew Mili was in game that called the Library of Ruina. In each chapter and character's song let me crazy. It really brings me to the game and let me wonder know who is Mili. She is one of my favourite singer now, I really enjoyed her music.
I don't know if Mili will be singing for the game's newsest chapter, but she kinda hinted it on twitter. But the game's next update will reveal it, and it is 6/14 or 15(depending on timezones), I saw the littlest of a datamine of the game and i can say that it is worth a Mili song to play in the background of the battle. I'm hyped...
Execute me is one of my favorites from her, it’s such a beautifully tragic song about a computer who falls in love with a person and all the code is like genuinely coding from what I’m aware
I think if everything with "limbus company" goes well then we will see another piece of mili's music in about 7-10 days.(Cus theres apparentely should be music with lyrics in current game's chapter)
Context for between two worlds. Light spoilers, tried to keep it vague. It is mainly about two characters, one who used to live in a "world of light", and the other, who obsesses over the former and plunges them into a world of dark in an effort to have the former join them. The following is my interpretation of the song and has less light spoilers so dont say I didn't warn you. I personally believe that the song is sung mainly from the perspective of the first character, at least a part of them, towards the other, who also periodically responds back to them in the song ("listen up my broken child"). I only think "part of them" because although some of the lyrics are very applicable to this first character, some of them arent applicable to them in their entirery. I specifically believe it's the part of them which wants to give in to the other's plunge into darkness because they have been so utterly shattered that they would feed from the first hand that reaches for them. I believe this "only a part of them" case because the current form of the first character would NEVER ask the other to "show them how". And this is VERY big spoilers what I'm about to say, but... ...Another reason is that although part of the song is sung as if the character has accepted and is in the process of taking the other's descent into darkness, in the actual story they only barely did, being able to run away and returning only with the urge to do some uhhhhhhh... very gore intensive things to the other.
For some reason the second song really reminds me of The World God Only Knows 1st OP, I guess it's the whole AI and digital thing, but there's something in the tempo too. The TWGOK op is a banger too btw :)
Asking to RATE the songs you've just listened to? Damn, that's hard. #1 is world.execute(me) - simply because it got me hooked for a long time. I love the concept of it, the lyrics, the music.. #2 is Between Two Worlds. Because Limbus brain rot I got.. and because the second half of it is so gripping. #3 is.. well, Rightfully. Just doesn't do it for me as much as other Mili songs. Only been listening to Mili songs for around 4 months. One of their songs (String Theocracy) got me into trying out Library of Ruina, and Library of Ruina got me into listening to the rest of Mili songs.
You definitely have to react to some more of Mili's work, they have such a unique sound for every single song they make. Definitely a massive recommendation!
Look, I only found Mili through The Executioner and Her Way of Life OP. Once I heard Paper Bouquet, my brain snapped, and I had to know more, because that song...let's just say that I, a dude who ALWAYS skips OPs after the first watch, would sit back and smile through the OP every episode, just like Itaden Dieties and Assassin Aristocrat. BOP, for sure. At least world.execute(me), my other favorite Mili song(even though I despise typing it on my phone) made this video. Folks be sleeping on Paper Bouquet, damn it.
Nice first songs to choose. Do you know, there is an acapella version of the "Two Worlds" song? Anyway I like you choosed one of my favoutite the Goblin Slayer's opening: "Rightfully", but there is two other song, you should look for from this series: "Within" and "Static". These songs are equally good. Also I recommend they first album: Mag Mell.
Limbus Company is a game made by the same people who made Library Of Ruina and Lobotomy Corporation, and in these games, once you hear Cassie Wei singing, you know you're in for a harsh time 👀
Great reaction! hope you react to more of their music. I'd suggest "From a Place of Love", "Children of the City", "Salt, Pepper, Birds, and the Thought Police"
i dont know if you know about the anime "86" but i highly suggest it. the music is top notch but even better is that the lyrics fit SO perfectly with the narrative. even the music on its own without context is really good
Mili lyric are so absurd yet understandable, it gives me a magical floaty feeling. The fact that she often has a tendency to world building inside 3-4 minutes is amazing. They be like: Drink up the cough syrup, and believe in mortal butterfly. Can't you see the beauty of death? You will see their heart erupts. Tell them Magi and Doctor how you're feeling, and drink your cough syrup. Morning rises, i wore my pants and left my arm at home. Mirror follows, there's a beauty at rome.
wait, what, didn't know i would see someone react to Mili. never even heard it being talked by anyone, or even heard anyone knowing them, but i'm a fan of them First time i ever heard about them is a game from Deemo, a mobile rhythm game that was released in 2013, Mili songs were added as additional payed songs some time later and it was worth getting (i pirated the game and once i started earning some cash, i purchased the whole Mili set) honestly i came from the metal gear rising reaction, checked your channel and found this lol. for anyone seeing this, is there a specific genre for this type of songs?
One of the cool things I've seen pointed out for the world.execute(me) video but not here is that all the code scrolling past, if you are able to read it, is actually the lyrics to the song.
Jhulian, Would it be Possible to react to KOF (King of Fighters) AST/OST Themes from KOF 14 like “Survivors under the Sky (Ikari Warrior Team Theme)” or “Departure from South Town (Fatal Fury Team Theme)”. Just Music without the Vocals
