As someone who is heat sensitive, and also already loves your setup, I think I would enjoy recording in there less if you use the massive board. However, I think the restoration job you are doing is really cool!
Keep in mind that the studio would still be kept at the same temperature, it's just that the AC would be on a lot more often. I don't like that for both cost and environmental reasons. But I would love to record through that console at least a couple times to really hear it.
Indeed, for an analog console, you'll have to budget monthly air conditioning + electricity bills, which could add up quickly, plus maintenance cost, including spare parts and repairmen, both of which may be hard to find / costly to shp in some locations.
Luckily, electricity rates are resonable in BC, and I guess I'm currently my own repairman. ;-) Still, I'm not 100% sold on this console idea. The proof will be in the sound.
