Welcome back to another studio vlog about an average week in my life as an illustrator.
This time I take you along with me on several days instead of one full day - because honestly it is still so hot in Berlin I can't do much! 💦
In my last vlog I talked about a question I get quite a lot: When and how did I feel confident enough to start showing my art online? Being a shy introvert myself, I talk about my experience while painting.
Also - I hosted a sale over the weekend to celebrate reaching 60K on Instagram and I filmed the packing madness! 😊 Thank you so much once again to everyone who placed an order - you guys allow me to do this full time!

Thank you for the advice - as a shy person I totally get it. Artists are lucky to have their art that wants to burst out of us no matter what so that usually is our first step. But the part about putting yourself out in the public, taking that first step before you feel perfect is the most important. I still struggle with that one, it never really goes away, but it is an important step. Dont wait for perfection, step out and do it now! Congratulations on your sales!

I can totally relate to what you said about shy people with low self-esteem...that's me. And although I have no plans on working as an illustrator full-time, I wish I could create beautiful illustrations. At this point, I am super confused on what I want to be drawing and I know that I have to get serious and start actually learning how to draw from the beginning. I have been drawing random stuff every now and then because I thought that nobody would take me seriously, so I was not taking seriously myself. Now I am 32 and I really want to learn the basics, but it's confusing. I feel as if I have wasted my time and it's too late, the learning will take years and I will end up not being able to draw anything. Every time I think of drawing something it takes me hours to get myself motivated and to be brave enough to start. At the end I am usually concentrating on the mistakes I made and everything that is wrong with whatever I drew... But I keep trying :)

It's so nice to see how much love you put into your packaging! And I do the same when I don't know if something will look good - I transfer it to my iPad first to try it out, haha! Your videos are Always so relaxing! It's such a big pleasure to watch them!I would like to ask you: how do you manage the colors of your stickers talking about printing? You design them both with ProCreate and by hand and watercolors, but I know there is always the issue of CMYK gamut that can change hues and tones, with the risk of having a result quite different from the original. Do you do something specific (like designing them in CMYK or converting the file before ask for printing, etc) or do you accept the final result as it is when the stickers are sent to you? Thank you very much and keep up the good work :D

Leyrhell procreate only supports RGB which makes it easy for printing :) I work with procreate as well which is how I know

Hi :D It is strange :/ because RGB is a color system specific for digital designs and for all the works that born digital and stay digital (websites, videogames, banners, etc) while CMYK should be the one for all the products that will be printed, because printers dont' work in RGB but in CMYK. The color range between the 2 is quite different for this reason, because printers are not able to reproduce all the RGB colors (especially the most vivid ones, that will be changed to the most similar in CMYK). For example, when you order stickers from a site, they ask you the file to be at least at 300dpi AND in CMYK (sometimes they even ask you the Pantone color your work has). If you print something in RGB you can have a result quite different from the one you see on your monitor, because sometimes the "most similar" can be very dull :/
