Love seeing people discovering polymer clay! Just beware that Sculpey III can be very brittle after baking, especially for thin pieces. I would recommend trying Sculpey Soufflé or Sculpey Premo for these pieces as it is much stronger. I also know a lot of people bake earrings between tiles to ensure they remain flat. Polymer clay can be baked multiple times so you could bake once between tiles to ensure they remain flat, and then add the backings with bake and bond / liquid Sculpey and bake again to seal the bond. 🥰
Ahh this is so helpful!!!! Thank you for sharing! I’ve been trying to get my hands on scupley soufflé with no luck! Though I’ve mixed my sculpey III with some sculpey ultralight and the clay turned out complete different!!!! So much smoother and more durable! Thank you so much for your tips!! I really appreciate it! 🥰❤️
I’m the same way! I buy like everything I need for a new hobby and then don’t use it for months! I actually have a ton of gauche and polymer clay as well that I have yet to use!
The pins look so cute! Sorry to hear about the paint chipping and cracking on you. Just letting you know gouache doesn't do well painted thickly as the water in it evaporates it will leave a more matte finish and will kind of flake off. You can try a different type of gouache like acrylic gouache by Holbein as they also dry to a permanent finish compared to the jelly gouache. :)
Second the acryla gouache! Also with the plastic tray, you can use a hair dryer to heat the plastic and bend it back (between a couple of stacks of books to hold it straight as it cools) or if you’re adventurous dip it in a pot of boiling water for one minute and then between something to keep it straight to cool.
Ahh thank you so much for sharing!! I’ve never used gouache before and had no idea!! 🥲 I tried some acrylic gouache later on and it worked so much better!!! 🙏🏻❤️
just came across this video on my youtube recs and im so glad i did!! i realize this video was from 2 years ago but i learned so much from it. i'm starting up my small art business myself and want to work with clay so thank you for sharing your experience exploring this new medium!! you just gained a new subscriber
I loved how the pins came out! Super cute and I love seeing the learning experience. Your hair looks amazing and you DO look beautiful without make up ♥ Thank you so much for taking the time to create another vlog and I am really happy to see your creative progress! I hope you have a wonderful day/week/month/year!
Yesss! You ARE so pretty without makeup! This was such a relaxing lovely vlog. When I’ve made little clay keyrings I found lightly sanding them helped with the tiny scuffs you get - can’t wait to see what else you make ♥️
I'm sooo late but still!! Clay pins!! They're so cute and pretty and the first attempt is always for learning experience so you have already done a good job!!🦔💜✨ The prints are just super duper pretty and I'm so sad I missed out on this month's patreon but I hope next time I will be able to join🥺 Once again, your video brings a smile on my face and I feel so good seeing you getting all this fun stuff done! It's nice to be able to just sit down and do what you want without worrying about deadlines and all that stuff! I hope it's been a relaxing time for you trying these new things and I can't wait to see these fruity babies on the shop🦔💜✨
Nono do not worry at all! You’re never late! 🥰❤️ thank you so much for taking the time to watch another vlog, angus!! 🥺❤️ I hope you are doing well!!! Thank you for your supportive comment as always!!!😭
I just caught up on watching all you 'old' vlogs, yay! The pins turned out really cute 🍓 I'm the same with buying stuff and not using it for months. I'm always worried that whatever it is, it won't turn out well and that I would be disappointed...which sometimes is very much the case and other times I'm like, why didn't you do this earlier!! 😊 I look forward to more vlogs from you!
Aww Ciro thank you so much for watching my vlogs! 🥺❤️ that makes me so happy!!! Also I feel that so much!!! Sometimes trying a new medium/starting a new project can be so daunting because you know you’re probably going to mess up a bunch at the start! But it’s okay! It’s a learning process 🥰 I need to remind myself of this often!
I believe painting the clay with white acrylic wash 1st before painting them helps with the peeling I have a few odd shaped cutters i never knew what they where for after seeing your fruit cutters i now know they are fruit cutters haha i know what im doing tomorrow now xx
@@itsLunaloo thanks for the reply! gouache wasnt working for me either, I used acrylic paint but it wasnt ideal. yours turned out really nice and smooth and the paint looks very opaque, I think I will give acrylic gouache a try too then!
Yas! You're pretty with or without make up! Also, gouache tends to crack when it's too thick on a surface. The acrylic layer probably became muddy because it re-activated the gouache underneath. Acrylic or acryla-gouache would be better for clay pins. Hope that helps. The pins look really cute though! :)
ahh thank you Andy 😭❤️❤️ also YES! This is exactly what happened! The acrylic reactivated the gouache and it was just a muddy mess! I think I’m going to invest in some acrylic-gouache! Thank you for the tips!! 🙏🏻
Doesn’t the pasta roller come with a clamp?? (It usually does) You should clamp it to the table, so you can go wild with the handle 😆 It’s easier on your body, cause you don’t have to use much force and you don’t have to use your other hand to hold the machine Excited for the pins + so sweet of your brother to make you those clay cutters
Ahaha I does come with a clamp I was just too dumb to use it 😂 I tried it out the other day with the clamp and it was so much easier to use!! 🤦🏼♀️ shoulda used it from the start! Also thank you!!! I’m so happy my brother was able to help me out! He’s the best 🥰
Super cute pins but you can’t use gouache because it will start to crack as you layer it is not meant to be on that type of surface you have to use acrylic paint. I hope that helps or get some colored polymer clay 💖💖❤️
Ahh thank you so much for your tips!! I’m definitely going to experiment with some different types of paint 🥰 I’ve recently tried some acrylic gouache and it worked much better!!
I love your videos. Please be careful when it comes to buying from Aliexpress, they steal other artists hard work and sell it as their own as cheaper inferior products. 😞 I hope you’re keeping safe and well. ☺️
Ahh thank you Emma!! I’m always a little hesitant buying from them! I never purchased art because I have heard that there are many sellers who steal from other creators 😔 They had so many interesting storage solutions I was very optimistic about but... I’m not sure if it was worth it 😅
I think that kind of gouache is waterbase so it doesn’t adhere on polymer clay surface hehe. Try using acrylic or acrylagouache! Gouache can be reactivated with water unlike acrylagouache
