Hi Katie. I've been watching your videos for like the past 1.5 months and I've got to say that I am so incredibly grateful for them, like you actually genuinely have no idea how much you and your videos mean to me. I moved to Manchester for my undergrad on Friday, and in moments where I was sure things would not work out, your videos encouraged me a lot and reassured me greatly. I learned from your experiences, I took your advice, and I learned to see things from your perspective, and I must say the view is quite beautiful now. This is such a lovely, heartwarming video and although I will be graduating 3 years from now, I know that this place that I am in and the people that are with me now won't stay with me in this state for that long. My flatmates will probably go to different flats when our first year ends, and it makes me incredibly sad to think about at the moment because even in just these four days they've become like family to me. The only thing I believe I can do to prepare for that is to watch this video over and over, to remind myself that while everything will inevitably change, as it always does, I need to be glad that I was here. Thank you for everything you do, your videos genuinely make me incredibly happy and I really wanna see you go far in life. Love, Someone Else

thank you so much for this series !! i moved out across the country to study a year ago and didn't feel so much homesick first time, but now i visited my family and hometown for summer holidays and i am literally crying my eyes nonstop when i think about having to say goodbye again. it breaks my heart💔💔 your videos brought me so much comfort and hope tonight

I realise I never left a comment on this video. It may be (4 months) late but you've really done it with this one. I was a mess after watching this, but in the best possible way. This entire series is just you achieving what you've worked so hard to achieve and it was such a pleasure to be able to be there alongside, taking your wisdom and applying it to myself. And you've really captured how when you grow with a place, and you leave that place, you're left with how much you've grown. I only hope that will continue for you, and I wish you the best on your future endeavours. And consider buying a new journal so you've got an excuse to come back :)

Thank you so much for everything, without you my dreams of going to the University of Edinburgh wouldn't have been possible, I'm sure I would have figured out one day but thanks for giving me this option. Thank you for being there when I looked up, "Dorm move in videos" even though I am a freshman and still have 4 more years before that chapter. Like you Katie I just finished a year abroad and I swear I have to wait two full days every time you post a video of this series to mentally prepare for it. And yet I still cry in every single one of them because of how much I see myself in every single thing you say. I loved this series so much and I loved how it made me remember and miss every good and bad moment that I had this last year. Thank you for making these videos!!

I have been binge-watching all your videos while in quarantine for my exchange year this year in Taiwan and it has been amazing seeing you make the most out of your time while abroad. This video is a great reminder that people come and go out of your life and truly the memories are what we should cherish.

Hi Katie! I just started watching your videos a few weeks ago, something similar happened to me with the pandemic, I was supposed to study abroad in 2020 but obviously it got canceled. Now, I am about to become an international volunteer in England starting from August, finally being able to complete that dream I've had for so long. Just wanted to said that I've bigge watched a lot of your videos, and they have helped me a lot in the begging of this new journey, I love the way you picture all the ups and downs, and I'm so glad you are sharing this experience with us 💖💖

Hi Katie. I’ve just found your channel a few days ago. I want to say thank you for making these videos. It’s very inspirational and comforting to me. Even though I don’t know you personally, I feel so much in common with you. Maybe it’s because we’re the same age, or because our study abroad was affected by the pandemic. It is known for years that almost everyone in the major I’m in will get an opportunity to have an exchange year, so that’s my goal since 14. I’ve got accepted into the exact university and managed to get in to this exact major, hoping my turn would come. But as we all know, the pandemic hits. And the future became so vague for me. I was losing hope, but fortunately the border is open again. I fight my way to get my opportunity earlier this year(They told me to submit every paperwork in ONE day🙄) and finally got accepted late May. I’m waiting for my departure this Fall semester. But, oh man, after being an introvert with close to none socializing in person for 2-3 years, and after being a whole mess because I thought my plan was all ruined, I’m nervous as hell. I didn’t know what to do, what to expect. Your video and your personality comforts me, gives me hope, and makes me want to be a better person. I’m sorry for the long essay. I SURE lacked communication LOL. English is not my first language, so if there’s any error, sorry🤡 Love and support from the other side of the world💖

I waited more than half my life to leave my home country that I really hate, for the past decade that’s not a single day where I don’t think about leaving but now that I’m actually leaving and closer to the date, I actually feel more scared, stressed, sad and even depressed than the happiness and excitement I always felt when thinking about leaving
