I studied in Seoul during the summer in 2022, and now I'm going to Sydney in February for the spring semester! It's so much fun, plus it's a great opportunity to see the world~
Your Sydney vlogs were so fun, I would have loved that opportunity at your age. There's the Steyne in Manly for a little partying, but it's a bit far. They have happy hour to compansate for the poor nightlife. :p
NYC nightlife > SYD nightlife, but it's hard to compare. One of the biggest factors with bars (and shops) closing early is wages. AUS employers have to pay their staff a living wage (hence no tipping) and average around ~$30/hr which goes up again after midnight. There are definitely places open after midnight but it depends on the size of the establishment. Nightclubs definitely open to the early hours of the morning but small bars, especially ones in Surry Hills (which is also a suburban area) will close early. Sydney is also only now just bouncing back from COVID and the roll back of the lockout laws ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_lockout_laws )
Hi Mia, I just graduated HS and IDK if I should study film. Since you are studying it, I was wondering. Do u think film school is worth it? And do u recommend it? I love your videos btw 💗
I plan on studying abroad my junior year which is fall 2025. I want to study at The University of Queensland in Brisbane. I want to do it in Australia mainly because I am a Wildlife Bio major and they have so many different species of animals.
how much money would you recommend saving up to be able to go on all these fun weekend trips (was there free public transportation/what were your favorite cheap activities??)
Realistically a grand or two 😵💫 traveled super cheap though! Only free carry on’s, walking and sightseeing is always free, stayed in cheap hostels (lots had free dinner or breakfast, 1 in the Gold Coast even had free activities) and things like the beach or hiking are free!
Hey Mia Aston, I came across your profile and noticed you're studying film at NYU Tisch. I'm really interested in pursuing film too and was wondering if you could share your journey into the program. Also, I'm an international student and curious about the scholarship opportunities at NYU Tisch.Any advice or insights would be super helpful!
Hi!! I actually have a few different videos on my portfolio / tips to get in / q&a’s / days in the life at tisch which might be helpful ✨💌 Tisch has a few scholarships, but, at least from when I applied, everyone is automatically considered for a scholarship
Hiii! I'm moving to Sydney in July. Your videos are quite helpful.. I don't know yet which residence I'm going to chose. Do you think the Regiment is better than Queen Mary building ?
Hi Mia. Greetings from Colorado. Glad you could have such a positive experience in Australia. I lived in #Israel for 4 years, mostly as a #KibbutzVolunteer (in a Work-Study situation), but also as a student at #HebrewUniversity in #Jerusalem. Once things calm down in Israel, I would encourage you and other RU-vidrs to consider becoming Volunteers on a Kibbutz together for a Summer. You could even do it as a Collab, and such could be sort of like #MTV's one-time very popular #RealWorld series. Blessings on the #JourneyOfLife...
