I have found during my Engineering study days I use to explain/teach to other students what I have learned on that topic made me understand that topic much better
I'm an electrical/computer engineer and did really bad my first year and ended with a 2.0 GPA :/ Now as a sophomore I'm going to make things right and focus more!
@@yeetguy6912 I basically spent more time studying than hanging out with my friends and spent less time on my phone + better ways to enjoy my time like reading, woke up earlier to study and put more effort and turned in my assignments on time
The best way as a structural engineer, you need to have a satisfaction and that comes only from updating your self and study the right materials And after many months of hard work, you can find your way That’s how I learned and still on it . . . ✌️
Great video Brendan. Engineering requires life-long learning, and that's part of what makes it a great profession, as there is always something new to learn. Do you perhaps have a list of subjects or syllabus you think covers the most essential skills required to make a good structural engineer? I'm very passionate about education, and I want to make the most of my career. I'm also a part-time lecturer, so it's something I think about constantly.
Hi Theuns, thanks for watching and support. Engineers essential understanding structural mechanics and how forces flow through structures, typically span to depth rations, simple rules of thumb basically anything that allow you to assess complex structures. Lots of repetition on simple frames untill it becomes second nature. Then communication communication communication , written, spoken and drawings most import know how to explain to untrained audience.
Great video Mr. hasty, well said. Could I suggest a topic for a next video? I would like to hear your thoughts around having a engineer degree vs having a tafe qualification (advanced diploma in civil design). How this can make a difference in your career? How far can u get without a degree? Is it worth having a bachelor? Cheers
Insightful ! Brendan what do you believe will be the top 5 skills for beginner engineers to make more money in next 10 yrs & stand out from the rest of the crowd who are just surviving in career ? Is side hustle a better way or being solopreneur is more beneficial for financial growth..
I usually enjoy your videos but im not going to watch a youtube video with a popup that i cant close on the screen the whole time. if your videos have the includes paid popup count me out 100% of the time
Hi One Grail, totally understand you and can tell at the start of the video, also you can scroll forward through this section. The issue is the youtube popup adds, are needed to help cover some of the cost not sure what add you got. If you would be interested in becoming a youtube member/patrion, i can upload an ad free version for members. Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback
