Hello,
In this video, I have explained about the study permit for minors .
First of all it is important to understand who is considered a minor. The age to define minor is different in each province
A person under the age of majority is a “minor child”
Province or territory Age of majority
Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan 18
British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Yukon 19
If you are coming to Canada on a work/study permit, then it is advisable to apply for a study permit for your minor dependents overseas as a letter of acceptance is not required.
If you apply from inside then you need a letter of acceptance

Hi Rahul! I submitted our visa application including study permit for my 4 year old and all with the help of your videos but I got letter of acceptance for minor child later on... I did not expect for it to come this early. Will it be ok to send it through webform now ? Or should I wait for visa officer reply? Please guide me.

@@florence1234able hi, can u pls tell me how you managed to get letter of acceptance? My kid is 10 year old and I wrote to Abbotsford Education Board asking for Letter of Acceptance but they said they can't give the letter till my kid starts attending the school there. And if u applied without the Letter of Acceptance then what did you put for school details in the study permit form?

@@HarpreetKaur-ee2sc I just asked and they gave actually. But before that I followed Rahul's video on attaching the screenshot of reference in IRCC where it is mentioned that a minor accompanying a parent with work permit does not need letter of acceptance. I haven't heard from them yet.

For minors, if I tick 'No' to the question of letter of acceptance, it says not eligible. Can I tick 'Yes'?

Hi Rahul, I am in Ontario, Canada on Work permit. My daughter's (14) Study Permit is expiring in December 2020. Need some guidance in applying for extension for her through my government Canada account. The process is a bit confusing. When giving answers for the questions, it offers an extension for me as well ( which is not needed) and asking both of us to pay. I think I am missing something in the process. Appreciate your help.

Hi Rahul, I hold a work permit, my child doesn’t need a study permit to study. However, she needs a legal status in which she has a VTR. Now, I want to apply for a study permit for her instead of extending her stay every six months. Should I apply on her behalf? Or does she need to create her own account to apply?
