Hi Rachel thank you for sharing this video, I find it very useful, my sister and I are processing her application through an agency to come here in Toronto as a student😊 We pray that she’ll get the approval 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I am also a newbie sharing my journey as an autism mom ❤️
Hi Elizabeth, yes I will make more of these case studies as references for what not to do in a SP Application. I feel the best way to learn is from mistakes. 😊👍
Medyo fishy nga nuh? I remember din in 2017, may nabasa ako sa Canadavisa forum 20M refused din. Kaya talagang kahit marami ka pera but you cannot justify where it came from then it would be a red flag pa din. Ilagay mo nalang un sarili mo sa posistion ng VO, kahit kaw papa isip ka san galing pera ni applicant, right? So make sure lang na no loop holes :) Good video Rachel! Keepit up!!! #FIlipinoRU-vidrofCanada ! Wohooo hahaha :D
You’re absolutely right and I agree with everything you say. 😜👍 It’s true that Immigration officers deal with the same application differently, so aspiring applicants need to be meticulous in explaining everything on their application. And I’ll try to give more samples of this in my upcoming videos. Thank you MC for your input, I admire you for the information you also give on your channel 😊❤️💯
Hi Rachel, hope you an do a video for family application? Student visa with OWP and minor children. Appreciate all your videos and been watching it for the past weeks.
My cousin applied as an international student in Ontario 2 years ago..and she was 45 years old at that time. Now, she's under post graduate permit. Her husband and 2 kids are in Canada as well.
Hi RR! What if I was denied a tourist CA visa in 2016, do you think that would affect my credentials when I apply for student permit? Thanks! Your videos are really informative and so helpful!!! ❤️
Hi April, they may see that in your immigration record but as long as you have a well supported and well documented Study Permit Application package with a Strong letter of explanation, it’s still very possible to get a positive response from IRCC.Goodluck on your application dear 😊❤️
I’ve had a classmate in that same age range that was able to study in Canada, tho I’m not sure if she was able to immigrate since her CRS score took a big hit from getting very little points for Express Entry. But case in point, it’s possible to study in Canada even at that age 😊👍
Hi RR!! Congrats on your PR!! I wanted to ask about proof of funds. If your personal funds + sponsors funds are more than enough do you still need to show other bank / investment documents of sponsor? Or no need? Need your opinion :)
I love watching all your videos. They’re all indeed very informative. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I finished my bachelors degree way back year 2014. I’d been working since then. In fact, I am currently working in Taiwan for about 3years now. And I am planning to move and study to Canada right after my contract ends. Questions: 1.Do you think, I’ll be able to make it through my application for international student. Shouldn’t I possibly get denied for SP? 2. Do I need to have my credentials assess by WES prior to apply to a certain universities? 3. What will happened then right after finishing the program? Do I really need to go back to Philippines or will it be possible for me to stay with my relatives for a couple of time while working on with PR application?
Hi Mgyan, Thank your for your detailed question. 1. Denial is always a possibility. You need to be assessed prior to making an application. Since you have worked and have a bachelors degree, you an SOP that explains in detail reasons for studying and supporting documents. 2. Depends on your university’s requirement and the program you choose. 3. Make sure you apply for a DLI school so that you can get your PGWP. If you did it correctly, then you can stay back for max 3 years on PGWP to work. After working 1 year in skilled job, you can apply for Express Entry. If you have high enough score, you may be selected to apply for PR. Hope that helps😊
Very informative video. Happy New Year and all success in 2021. Three questions please: 1. Is it cheaper to live off or on campus while studying? 2. Which Province is better to live in: New Foundland and Lambador or Saskatchewan? 3. Where do you live? Please do some more real cases. Thank you for your reply. All the best to you in 2021. Rgds
1. I find it cheaper to live off campus while studying. Because most rentals and dorms are more expensive studying in Vancouver. Generally too, rentals near schools and in schools are more expensive to stay in. But it could be different elsewhere. 2. Ohh that's a tough one to answer for me. Living in British Columbia, I have a bias :P The provinces you mentioned are more quiet and population is generally smaller too. It's bitterly cold in both and some consider it barren. :( But different strokes for different folks. 3. I'm based in Vancouver, British Columbia! And loving it
Hi thanks for this. Regarding large lump sum deposits, would it be okay if I provide a "gift deed" affidavit along with it? Do u know of anyone perhaps who did the same? Thank you
much better to plan and think a 100% before doing a decision, rrdancel your video helps a lot so much keep doing this and upload a lots of video so, a lots of people be educate before they decide to go in Canada 🍁
Thank you for your support. ❤️ Yes, I want others to learn from my experience so they don’t have a hard time adjusting in Canada. It’s the least I can do 😊🤗
Thank you Rachel for this informative video.. keep shooting and sharing information. I have an inquiry, do you have a recommendation for and immigration lawyer to consult while submitting my study permit visa... I got two refusals in 2018. Thanks 😊
May I kindly ask the reasons for refusal? ☺️ Also, because I did the application myself-I can’t really think of an immigration lawyer to refer you to at this time. But I appreciate you asking me that question ☺️👍
@@rrdancel hello Rachel.. rejected reason because my wife was applying for study permit to get a diploma and I was applying for work permit because we applied together.. but this was in 2018.. this time I am going to apply alone and leave my wife and two kids behind :(. Additionally, I am applying to MA degree this time. But I am affriad of the rejection history. That is why, i am planning to get the support of am immigration lawyer.
Hello, thanks for the video! Would you happen to be aware of the refusal reasons for Express Entry pathway? I'm planning to pursue the NL immigration pathway next year but not sure of the risks of refusal.
Hoped it helped you. Just a general question to know if I should post more videos like this. Questions: 1. Was this video helpful for you specifically? 2. How was it helpful towards your situation?
Definitely, yes. Coz right now, i also plan to study in canada. Well apparently, i haven't started anything yet. and truth to be told i was having a hard time preparing for the fees that i will be needing in the future so this gives me an idea on the do's and don'ts of applying. Thanks so much!! Been watching your videos for a couple of weeks now, and find it really helpful in deciding whether i will pursue this or not.
I knew a 45 year old applicant from China and she was refused too. The visa officer Stated her age and the fact that she was single and a music teacher . He was Not convinced she'd go back to China.
That’s quite unfortunate really. But I’ve had classmates past 35 years old that got to study in Canada - it really depends on the complexity and completeness of your application and a well written SOP! 😊
Very good video. A query. When applying for the study permit, if I demonstrated financial solvency for the first year, will you have to demonstrate how I will finance the second and third years?
Preferably have at least 75% of your tuition covered before making an application to study in Canada. Although it is possible to work while studying, because you are only given a max of 20 hours per week to work as a student - it may be challenging and stressful on you to carry the burden of shouldering your tuition and living expenses in Canada. To lessen unnecessary strain, save enough before coming here. Some students even make minimum-wage and with that it is near impossible to support yourself with that alone here in Canada.
Hello Rachel, this is an informative video, thank you for the analysis🙏My parents took out a loan to support my study (it's not a student loan), and I'm planning to give the bank balance of my parents with an affidavit letter. Is it likely to be refused because of the large sum of deposit in their account?
This is really useful advice. I have been working in Singapore for almost 11 years and I'd like to migrate Canada via further studies option. I am also thinking of applying Express entry since I have less of confidence with my age, 45 years old. I am married with a kid , who are currently living in my home country and my main intention is to migrate canada for my son' future ( especially his education).
You may want to calculate your CRS score before taking the study pathway. I say this is because of your age. Applicants 45 years old age or older by the time the apply for the Express Entry will have 0 points as compared to applicants between the ages of 20-29, which will get the maximum of 110 points. This means you are less competitive to be selected for PR. I am just being honest.
hi my study permit was refused because the officer was not convinced that I have sufficient funds due to the fact that i printed the bank statement and then i made payments to the school. Also, they said that i did not state any arrangements for my children. I applied for the GCSM notes so I was able to see the exact reason.
the selling of the house/property is enough reason for me she isn't planning to go back to her country after the study program :( that was red flag already. it's contradicting the purpose of her personal assets
Hi Gracie, thanks so much for your question. It's not as noticeable, most days have been pleasant with the occasional showers. But generally there is a good balance for all seasons.
I think Student pathway is the hardest pathway for PR. Caregiver is the easier pathway because when you arrive in Canada you have the sure program for pathway for PR and you earn money unlike student you can apply work-permit after post graduation and your allowed only for 20 hours of work before you are able to work and to apply student visa you need a lot of money in the bank before you got your student visa from your back home for caregiver you only need a employer to sign you and work for 2 years then you are eligible to apply for PR....over all you will get your PR in 3 years plus you dont have to pay for tuition fee and other expenses.
I beg to differ and let me explain. The student pathway is the most preferred pathway by the government of Canada bc students contribute to the economy. Students brought in 21.6 Billion to the GDP and created 170,000 jobs locally. With these numbers, govt of Canada understands the impact of and benefit of international students to the country. That’s why the new policy of inviting 40,000 students is in place. This number is bigger than all the caregiver programs combined. I’m not speaking from bias - I’m speaking from policy and numbers. The data overwhelmingly favours students. The live in caregiver program is also closed and it has been for over a year and that in itself is very telling of Canada’s demands. It’s also credential-reliant and employer reliant. Hence to even practice in that field, you need certification, training and a job-offer. I don’t mean to criticize your comment. I understand that people may qualify for other programs and have better chances there. It may have worked for you and hence I understand why you’re vouching for it. My point is based on numbers and policy.
I'm not really certain because they are other factors that come in play. Is that including expenses for accommodations? Are you single or will you be accompanied by family? Which province will you go? What city do you plan to stay? Will you use that to pay for your remaining tuition? Is that enough to get you by the number of years you'll stay here? Basically, there are several questions to answer before arriving at a conclusion but general rule is to have more than enough. Preferably have money set aside already for full payment of studies and living accommodations. Hope this answers your question.
My father is a freelancer, i mean he works by himself through the internet and he earns between 3,000 to 5,000 dollars per month, can i show evidence of that by providing receipts? In addition, I have been a meritorious student three times, can I include that? Also I am 17 years old and i can't have a police certificate, it requires to be at least 18 years old!
Hi, thx for the tips. This clears a lot of things and wish I knew all this before applying for a study permit. I have a few questions though, Is there any other way other than getting a GIC to prove funds. Would showing my bank statements be enough? I have also deposited a large sum in my account a just a few months ago and that sum was provided by my father so will explaining this in a letter suffice or do I need to provide some other proof as well?
@@bluetech7128 I wrote an affidavit letter for my mom and let her sign it (Ex: This is to confirm that I, xxx, mother of xxx, will financially support my daughter during her studies... I found a more reliable template and made my own adjustments) And my mom applied for her bank balance from the bank. I gave these two, the affidavit letter and the account balance sheet, it worked. I also wrote a summary on the first page, mentioning the amount of the required fund and the amount of funds available to me, so it is easier for the officer to know right away I have enough funds.
Hiiii !! I love your content. I’m from Barcelona and I’m doing a financial plan to do a 2y diploma in my main professional and studies assignment: tourism; Could u help me with more information about ?? I thinking that Vancouver is too expensive by my own .. maybe Niagara ??
Hi, love watching ur videos ❤️ I have a question, my SP was denied due to insufficient financial capacity. What are your tips for me before reapplying again. Thanks 😊
ooooh my recent video answers that question which you can watch here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eL8hvDcpxFY.html It has something to do with GCMS notes!
it is said we should provide POF that covers our FIRST YEAR's tuition and cost. What if my program is 20 month length and a total amount of tuition fee is listed on the program's website? Should we calculate the first year's tuition pro rata?
Thank you, a helpful video indeed. Question, does the money needed to fund my stay in canada or as we commonly know “showmoney” needed to be in my own bank account? Or a family member or a sponsor willing to support my study with letter to show for the immigration officer will suffice?. Me and my partner are planning to study there . We’ve seek help from a agency,Hopefully in the long run ,live there eventually, but after watching some of videos of refusals I’m a bit skeptical . For it requires a large money lets just say investment. Can you give us advice on what steps to take? Thank you
Hi Helen, I actually made a video on details to include in your SOP found here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-772gKwALNrY.html Also watch some videos related to SOP, the applicant's in the story had really good SOP that the decision of their refused application was overturned. Watch these: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_CCLHcS2RRc.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IzVFt4Mhpmg.html
HELP!! I withdrew 5k from my personal pof bank account over the course of one year for no strong reasons. They weren't supposed to be touched. Now I have to provide a bank statement showing all the funds are still there. I'm planning to redeposit the same amount withdrawn but i think the transaction history is going to be a big problem. Any advice? thanks
Hi 👋 I’m planning to apply study permit but scared of getting refused coz my mom is a canadian citizen. So maybe the immigration officer will think that I’ll be staying for good. Please I need your thoughts on this. 🙏🏻
Hi RR, I'm currently working in japan as an ofw after 3 years i will go back to ph. I'm working here to support my education in Canada. As you mentioned the bank statement should be current 6 months prior to application. If i will be showing my bank statement as a POF it would be a red flag right? Would I get a higher chance to get a student permit if i show a GIC as a POF? I need your advice. I really wanted to pursue my passion in Canada. Thank you! ♥️
i have my auntie ang auncle in canada and they will like sponsor me in my tuition and living expenses the question is should i still need to have a money on my own bank ?
Hi Rachel, about not depositing large amounts into my bank deposit months before applying - what if I received it as a gift from a relatives to help with expenses and/or it was profit sharing from my job?
You would need to provide a detailed explanation in your statement of purpose or letter of explanation. I suggest that you may need a review from someone that is an authorized representative after you have completed your SOP or LOE.
Before that, the approval rates for Ethiopia was generally low to begin with. But now, the approval rate is lower because it has to do with the current political instability and the armed conflict.
I am afraid, because i am 17 years old and my father will be responsible for my studies, however i cannot demonstrate that i have a job or police certificate or something like that, this is even the first time ever that i apply to a higher education, my father has 70,000 CA dollars on his account, do i have some possibilities, considering that i don't have past education?
You’re still a young applicant. You’re not expected to have a skilled job nor elaborate study history at this point. So explain what you’ve currently achieved and elaborate on why you want to come to Canada for studies. Explain your career goals or objectives and how getting a Canadian education will help you reach it.
You’re finances are reasonable and you have financial support from your father. Make sure to document that and have your father write a letter explanation they will be financially responsible for you during your stay in Canada.
@@rrdancel My father is a freelancer, i mean he works by himself through the internet and he earns between 3,000 to 5,000 dollars per month, can i show evidence of that by providing receipts?

Hi. Appreciate your content out here. What if I say the last minute deposited money is the cash saving of my family, who are in my home country(I am abroad), where bank accounts are not widely used(which is true). Would you think it is too suspicious?
Alright. Thanks for the video. So I have a question. In (6:50 - 7:10), you advised against having a 'large lump sum of money' in months prior to a study permit application. I will like to know approximately how much money will be too much a deposit in my account. Because I have been accepted in a Canadian Institution, and I need around 31,000 CAD to be able to show enough funds. Right now, however, I have just under 12,000 CAD. Next year, I plan to raise that money to at least 30,000 CAD but I want to raise it by having small deposits, so that I avoid any flags in my application due to large deposits of money in my account. I have until May 2021, when I plan to apply for my study permit, to fund my account. I will like to know if i should go ahead rasing the money in my account that way or if you can advise me on a better way to go about it. Thanks so much.
Hi Emmanuel, Thank you for your question. It is very detailed and related to your situation. Please understand that I am not a lawyer and I can not provide you with legal advice. At least I can try to guide you in the direction where you can find your answer. Where are you from? Are you DIY this study permit application yourself?
Hello Rachel, thanks for the video! I have a query. I'm an employed person and have been using my salary for investments. Now I've added the lump sum to my bank account just before applying my study permit 😬 Will this be a problem? I can show my payslips for proof of source for the money though.
How much funds do I need to cover a full-time 4 year course in Canada ? for the approval although I have 60000 cad raised already approx and I'm thinking of getting into Canada in the October fall or in the 2022 start kickoff. Can you please help me out ? Though I am smart enough for this. Anyways thanking you in anticipation. 😁
Hi sis! Is there a way I can msg you and ask you something? I don't want to divulge information here.. :) One thing I can ask here though is , what are your tips with a student visa application that brings her family to Canada with her? Is that a red flag? Me and my husband are the only people who can watch our kids and we cannot leave them to our parents sinces my parents still works (Business) and his parents are far away and lives in a small home with a lot of people. I had internship experience in USA for 1 yr last 2013-2014 and didn't overstay and been to several countries as a a tourst. How can I convince Canadian immigration officers that my intentions are pure?
Hi rachel! I'm from Philippines who planning to study in Canada and I just want to ask if have you been interviewed at the Canadian Embassy for a study visa, do you still remember the questions or are you familiar with the common questions during the interview of your application for study visa at Canadian Embassy? hope to answer this thank you so much.
You’re right, there’s No interview! All must be explained thoroughly in your Statement of Purpose Letter (which I have tips on how to write in my YT Channel) ❤️😜✨
Hi dear, thanks for your question! I wasn’t interviewed at the Canadian Embassy 😊 I just submitted my application package and dropped it off at the local visa application centre (VFS Global) ❤️😊
Not necessarily. Everyone is different and so there is no specific amount. The general rule is that your funds should be enough to support your entire studies without the need to work.
