Study with Me - A 1 Hour, Real-Time Study Session for 2019

By popular request, here is an hour-long study session, which may give you some extra motivation if you're studying for final exams.
You can use this like an extra-long Pomodoro timer:
1. Pick a single task to work on.
2. Play the video (or use a Pomodoro app if you like).
3. Stay focused on that one task for the entire 60 minutes.
4. If something interrupts you, jot down a quick note about it and then get back to work.
5. Once the timer goes off, take a 5-10 minute break.
6. If you still need to study or keep working, repeat the process.
I take a minute-long break in the middle to stretch, and I suggest you do the same!

A lot of people have been asking for an hour-long study session video, so here it is! To those who don't seem to understand the point of "Study With Me" videos: Some folks prefer studying with someone but you and your friend might talk instead of studying and if the nearest library is too far away or it's always full, it's great to have company even on the internet. It keeps you motivated. Idk why you guys are so salty about the idea though.

I do this additional step of simplification of notes. Take a whole chapter and summarize it to one page. That page of content has graphs, tables, mnemonics, visual mnemonics. It takes me hours to simplify the notes, but only minutes to revise there-after. I hope this will help you guys as well.

@Rafael: I used the same principles even for my final exam of Med-school. The key is to finish your daily tasks each day. I found it much easier to revise a large syllabus than my colleagues because I had my notes simplified.

@@Biologin It depends on the class. You can't really do this pure math, physics, chem courses that requires the application of some math technique (aka can't be memorized). I did this for my heavily qualitative-based astronomy and geology classes, and I tended to grasp the information much better than reading notes and ppts

I don't know why there are so many negative comments here, but I just want to thank you for doing this. It really helps my study much better since I love being with friends but couldn't stop talking with them, so I need something like this to help me study without real interaction with people. As I write this i am crying. I have have people in my life but I am extremely alone. I dont live in the best situation so its difficult to convince people to visit me.RU-vid has been everything for me for about 10 years. I use it to coach me through depression, to learn a new skill, to listen to a story, to celebrate the holidays, etc. It is my best companion. And now it has given me someone to sit and study with so that I can reach my academic goals. I know it seems weird but thank you so much for this gift. These videos are so helpful

So... This is interesting to me. His focus and undivided consentration is a goal i always try to reach. For me ive noticed when i study my eyes begin to wonder and thinking of completely unrelated things sometimes I even find myself super anxious. Does anyone else get this or have any tips to help?

If you watch this with double speed it means that you lose 30 minutes of the video. As I know, every minute will be 30 seconds and by that you lose half of the time which means that you save time, but yes you’re cheating.

Somebody turning pages or tapping a keyboard has an ASMR effect on me. I get drowsy in libraries and this just had the effect of moving me from my desk to my bed for an afternoon nap.

I get ASMR too! I've taught myself to study with ASMR in the background, and I think it helps me study better (due to being relaxed while I am learning and revising information). Now I just pop on my headphones, turn on some good ambience or ASMR, and suddenly I'm in the zone! :D

It motivates you because you feel like you are studying in a group (or with someone else). When you actually do study with someone else you feel ordered to get some stuff done because you dont want to disappoint your study-buddy. This video simulates this kind of feeling.

So one of the things I like a lot about this are the various quick cuts you put into to show what you're doing. It's strange, but I could almost see this having a summary video to break down what you're doing in sections as you're moving through it all.

Please make more such videos. These really help me a lot and people like me. Though we are less in number who loves such videos but for the sake of us please never stop producing videos like these. They motivates us a lot and helps in studying in many ways. There are thousands of study with me videos on net but all features gilrs and they are so boring.. you don't actually get motivated seeing a girl studying. Watching you studying convinces me to copy you and study. This is case with all. Please make such videos atleast twice a month. And also, latest friday's tools and tips was awesome.

In order to have better hold over any subject I would advise to go through your main book,understand the concept and write notes in your own words I know it would seem boring and difficult at first but later you can review your notes and ace in the subject!. Another tip: If you got into making flash cards,it may seem tempting and you will end up with a pile (which will seem impossible to review later!) but it is better to make them as concise as possible and on the topics you find difficulty with. I hope these tips are useful!😊 Wishing you all a productive week ahead!🤗

What are you hearing, when you are studing? I was theached that music is one of the biggest distractions. Or do you listen to some noise that helps you to fade the sourrundings out ?

Music is only a big distraction if it has lyrics in it. This is because the part of your brain you use to listen to lyrics is also the part of your brain you use to revise with. So you can't do both at the same time.
