I shouldn't be saying this since I'm still not in college but in high school, but here are a few tips for computer science that i follow and had found to be extra productive: - 1) Never read the notes in the first place. Only use it to refer to the problems. The best way to study cs is to watch some really good RU-vid lectures rather than read class notes. Most of the time, the Indian lectures are pretty good as the cover detailed topics. 2) while you're watching lectures, I recommend you write and practice codes on piece of paper rather than try it on your pc firsthand. This allows you to develop logic by yourself rather than being reliant on the IDE debugger, so you get to be extra careful. Also in the exam, you have to write it on piece of paper, right? So why not practice it now firsthand? 3) Set up a goal to like maybe, do atleast 5 programmes per day. This reduces stress and anxiety. I know it's hard since it's college and all, but being consistent really helps a lot. 4) One good way to learn cs is by developing your own projects firsthand. Say for example you learnt about the different number systems, like decimal, binary, octal, hexadecimal, etc. Now write a program that gives user the choices to convert a given number from decimal into any of the above number systems, or vice versa. THIS HELPS A LOT! P.S. best of luck for your upcoming exams. And yes, I am a computer nerd.
My cousin is currently going there for medical school. She’s 26 and she says that she studies about 60 hours a week. I’m a student at Ferris State in Big Rapids, MI in a business (sports & hospitality major). I study about 30 hours a week usually. She puts me to SHAME with how hard she works and where she’s going to school (I’m not fond of big city metropolitan colleges though just not my style). Thank GOD that the internship she has with her surgeon trainer is a paid position.
sophie you’re so sweet!!!! thanks for saying that:) cs can be so incredibly discouraging at first, but keep on pushing! always remember how smart and capable you are, this is nothing you can’t handle😤
ahhh i’m guessing you’re in the middle of finals week now!!! hope everything’s going well, i know you’ll do amazing😤 don’t forget to take care of yourself!!! one final push. you got this!🤩
Although I'm a year late in discovering this video, the number of times I've watched it is insane!!!! There's something about your videos that instantly gives me the motivation I need to get up and start working. Lysmmm Steph!❤❤❤ Please keep making more videos like this one!!! (also, loved how much i related to this video)
aw you’re so sweet!!! thanks for your kind words🤩❤️ i just graduated so i probs won’t be making more study vlogs (unless i go back to school again😬) but i’ll definitely be uploading work/productivity vlogs! i hope those will do😭😅
Computer science is hard to study since it vastly defers from conventional method of studying and taking notes on everything. I would suggest to solve problems on them if the subject is logic based completely and if not, make notes only on concept based subjects, plus have pseudocodes as examples or so. I myself being a cs major struggling a lot honestly.. but these two things have helped a little
learned this the hard way coming from a biology background:’)) i so appreciate your insight, thanks for that!!! will be putting all of it into practice during my next round of exams🤧🤩
Offtopic- she's so beautiful. So currently it's almost 9 pm , I have done nothing and my exam is tomorrow at 9 am , I'll leave my house at 8. Hmm...so let's see if I can do my whole syllabus (I want to be this exam good cause it's my last exam) .hmmm I wasted 4 holidays 😽. This is my first time to do al syllabus in a night let's see. I want to do it for myself ❤️
I genuinely think I'm the only human being to do this, i got a practical exam tomorrow and i got 10 C++ question to study, 6 HTML and 3 SQL its currently 4:13pm and exam is at 12 pm tomorrow. Instead of studying this week i just speed ran a bunch of jobs online and offline, partimes, fulltimes etc and now i have around 20,000 dollars in my pocket and 50,000 dollars in Bank. And i also got my drivers license. Bruh i did everything expet for studying 😂😂
