I found these fascinating interviews while surfing the web. 60 some odd interview films in all, on various subjects related to Dr. Migeod's career as a Stuka pilot in WW2. I thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if someone would splice them all together in order so you could sit back without all that clicking and enjoy." So I did.
Here is the original interviewers description. All the work was his:
"I performed this interview at Dr Migeod's house on 31 May 2010 in Somerset West South Africa. Dr Migeod is 92 years old and was a Luftwaffe stuka pilot who saw service in France, BOB, Balkans, Crete and Africa."

It's great hearing the German perspective where he's not walking on eggshells regarding what he recounts and is honest about his feelings. I'd like to see more of these. Even with the Japanese.

I was lucky to have a grandmother and great uncle like this. They were Berliners. They hated the Nazis and were by no means apologists for what happened. However, they also refused to walk on eggshells or act as if they themselves had done anything wrong by simply being German. I learned SO MUCH from talking to them and hearing the other side of the story inspired me to become a lifelong WW2 historian. My dad's father was bombing my mom's mother in Berlin, so as a kid I was VERY interested in how that situation happened in the first place. It fascinated me. ..and I had direct access to all sides of the story. My grandparents were German, British, American, and Italian. As an adult, I worked for 10 years at a Japanese company and live in Hawaii, so I've been able to learn a lot on those fronts too. Primary source history is so fascinating and exciting. It makes me sad that this generation is all but gone.

Great to hear from a German veteran, about his feelings and perceptions of the war and its aftermath. Cant blame him for feeling bitter about the allies handing over his homeland to the Russians, and then expecting him to join the Bundeswehr, to keep the Russians at bay. Absorbing narrative, brings the momentous events he experienced to life.

i must admit that this story was one of the golden nuggets i found on youtube. when i listen to Heinz-Georg Wilhelm Migeod, his story becomes a kind of real. its like sitting next to him and as he tells his story, it becomes more and more like watching a movie somehow. the story he told was so impressive, he made me realy think a lot. from early on, my favourite thing on was to listen to people like Migeod, but people who are able and willing to tell the german side of the story are rare. someone who wants to know what really happend, should listen very carefully to people like him. Migeod does not behave like these soldiers they showed on german TV over an over again. Migeod seems to be proud, like any other successful soldier. he did what soldiers had to do - to fight and kill. people like him should be treated with respect. it makes me sick to know that german soldiers where treated like criminals, only because they served their country.

Most honest and frank interview given or spoken by Heinz-Georg Wilhelm Migeod, he seems to careless Germany losing the IInd World War but in his view how he served his role successfully. Stuka flight training. The instructor starts going over all the bells and whistles. Says the plane is slow, says there is a button to blow the bolts off the landing gear, says there is a lever to engage the “auto pull out” of a dive, in case you black out, there is also siren. So we are looking for short, fat, and old people who really can’t contribute to the war, to fly this. Then the instructor asks if anyone has any questions. My hand goes up. You mean to tell me, this plane is 120 miles per hour slower than all other planes? You mean to tell me, there is a button to remove parts from my plane, while I am flying it? You mean to tell me, I have to pull on a lever before I dive, in case I black out in a plane I am flying? So after all this, your going to sit there and tell me, your looking for short, fat old people because we have no other option to help fight this war, but your going to announce my arrival into battle with a siren in a slow plane that has buttons and levers that allow the plane to take it self apart in flight? Is that correct? My question is, Sir...Where is the button I press that turns me around back to base.

@KB-zq9ck Flying a Stuka was very dangerous because it could not escape an attacking fighter. Adolf Galland wrote in his book that the Luftwaffe had to remove the Stukas from the Battle of Britain because the losses against the RAF were much too great.

@@RamDodger sadly you are mistaken... Not all commies were bad either - is equally deeply misguided opinion ... Yet this Mr. Hitler decided that he doesn't like them all. And did you ever hear about the Dragg nach Osten and the final solution ? See I am Slav. Born Czechoslovak. In my family we actually have members executed by NAZIES. Civilians killed in revenge for fighting against an occupation and extermination efforts ... The insanity of this is that this is an active effort to romanticise the war and portray NAZIES as just good obedient soldiers. My Great uncle cares very little for what this Nazi swine had to say. He was shot executed in retaliation by the good obedient just soldiers... And Idol of this Nazi here venting his piehole took active part in efforts to exterminate my nation deemed Untermensch subhuman. Everybody in Germany supported Nazism until it became obvious that they can't win... So the message here for all of you admirers of this derelict of hateful ideology is that you support genocide. Shame on anybody supporting NAZIES and may he rot in hell !!!

Dewotine D-520 We are told it had merit and potential. "Unlike the Morane-Saulnier M.S.406, which was at that time the most numerous fighter in the French Air Force, the Dewoitine D.520 came close to being a match for the latest German types, such as the Messerschmitt Bf 109. It was slower than the Bf 109E but superior in manoeuvrability.[1"

The Stuka was one of the best most beautiful plane ever built. I wish there was not a order to search and destroy it. Growing up around 4 to 5 years old my father built 3 war plane models and hung from my bedroom ceiling, one a Zero, one a Spitfire, and one a Stuka in Desert Paint. At that age I did not know anything about planes or what they were, I just loved the look of the Stuka. Later in my teens, growing up in Chicago, one of the 3 Stukas that survived is on display at the Museum of Science and Industry. I went every day for 5 years back in the late 80's to just look at this plane. I would give anything to get a chance to fly in one. Just a beautiful plane that was a battle axe.

He is telling the story as he was feeling when this happened, like that not like its common that germans always show regretting their actions under ww2 . This find man do not sugarcoat his story but how he was feeling, he was a pilot do now war crime its refreshing to listen to him. He hade a job too do, no more no less he was a find man I would be proved to serve next to him.

Jeff Wilson, you're right; the brief clips are fascinating, but this is even better. Your explanatory inserts add a lot. Fine job! I could go on and on about aspects of this video (Stuka pilots finding Hurricanes more dangerous than Spitfires, Hans Joachim Marseille coming close to "fragging" his commanding officer, and so forth), but I'll say a word only about the negative comments. I can understand some people's finding it annoying that Migeod isn't apologetic about fighting for Nazi Germany. On the other hand, I don't know. He's an elderly man talking about youthful experiences that must strike even him as almost beyond belief. Perhaps I'm merely saying that I can't help but admire someone who dove at high speed into anti-aircraft fire in skies filled with enemy fighters. I'm thinking of the dedication at the end of the movie, THE MEMPHIS BELLE (1990). The filmmakers dedicated it to (I'm trying to quote, but I'm probably only paraphrasing) "all the young men, whatever their nationality, who flew and fought in history's greatest aerial conflagration."

Fuck off, why should he apologize for it? He was young, a patriot, and Hitler had restored German pride and self-belief. Just look at the West today, how degenerate it has become and how it is letting 3rd world populations move in and out-breed the natives. Thanks to, international bankers, globalists, zionists and lefties.

you all need to listen from 13:43 - 14:50 ...750 km - and then beginning at 2000 km he had to take out of the dive slowly. The surface of the wings were undulated ( warped) when inspected. Ergo, the flight was never recorded and kept secret. .. You didn't listen.

My grandmother spent the war in France. The Stukas attacked the civilians fleeing to stop the troops on the other side of the road. She survived an attack and fell facing the sky. She told me she’ll never forget the pilots face and his blue eyes, because they got very low. When the attack was over she got pieces of skull and brains of the people who died, all over her.
