The Lionfish has quickly become one the most destructive invasive species to marine life on the East Coast of the United States and if that’s not enough they also have an extremely painful venom they often violently spike into unsuspecting divers and fisherman. Yikes!

The worst sting I've ever had is being stung by a cow killer once on my shoulder blade (I didn't know until I flicked it off me and saw it, then looked it up) and it was miserable I couldn't imagine half the stuff this man has gone through, respect man 😭🙏

Cow killer is pretty bad theyre on my property and I leave them because they lay eggs in yellow jacket nests and the young cow killer eat yellow jacket babys😂 they’re also a wasp so it’s not like you’ll be overrun with them if you let them go. I killed them for a couple years till I learned they’re beneficial

I've seen a person at my scuba centre a few months back who had been stung by a lionfish and he was screaming in pain, constantly switching between warm and cold water to keep the venom out. Worst part is, he couldn't get any help because the toxin will last for up to 6 hours and there is no cure to it as it's a neurotoxin.
