Stung 2 A hornet mated with a beetle car and it turn into a “waspinator”.

Has anyone ever considered a horror movie set _in_ a colony of bees? Like, the bees are the protagonists, and the plot of the film is that the physical structure of the hive has been collapsed by horde of rampaging Japanese hornets, and our protagonists are trying to find the queen to facilitate her escape to start a new colony while the hornets are hunting them?

Ya know why Lance was so calm? He's dealt with parasitic bugs who grow in people's bodys before. And he's dealt with being a robot and having one too.

"I'm from F*cking Argentina, Hijo de ..." Yeap. That's a 100% realistic depiction of an Argentinian reaction to being called "Mexican" or associated with México in any capacity. It doesn't matter there was a giant wasp tearing her from the inside-out. Argentinian pride is always the top tier priority.

I remember seeing this trailer and I legitimately thought "This looks like a movie Decker would have a ball reviewing." XD

Who makes horror for people that don't like horror? Blumhouse, the folks behind Paranormal Activity, and pretty much anything dumped in January.

I just did a run down of things that have attacked Lance Henrikson. I've got Xenomorphs, Predators, the Terminator, Geth, Reapers, Pumpkinhead and, based on a comment I just read, Bigfoot. Did I miss any guys?

There actually IS a fun cult movie about giant mosquitoes and its called.... MOSQUITO!!!! Shocking i know. Might be worth your time though Decker as, fun fact, the Special Effects Director half way through production one day said "Ill be back, gonna buy a pack of smokes." and never came back.... so they had to hire somebody else, so you get two see two different effect styles throughout the film.

Lance Henriksen is a God, no matter what he does. He's the greatest horror movie actor of all time !

The concept is nice... I liked that even worse wasps appeard in the end despite all the struggle...

I saw it on Netflix ages ago and thought it was a good way to spend some time. I love me some giant insect movies. :)

I honestly like the special effects of this film, the practical effects are gruesome and well executed, while the CGI looks a lot better than what I would usually expect to see in a direct to video horror flick...Usually such films feature laughably bad CGI. Like you said, the film seems to know when to use one special effect technique or another, but I especially loved the practical effects because you rarely get to see them in films these days, and they were, again, really creepy and gruesome. Wish more modern horror flicks utilized such effects more frequently, they really made a difference. I admit its weird there was only one "mind control wasp," & that it wasn't necessary to have a single human character to place all the blame on for the monsters (though of course some kind of explanation was needed), or at least he could have had a more interesting story to tell (even if the irony of something as silly as growth fertilizer creating such outlandish monsters is pretty brutal...Must have been manufactured by the science division from Gremlin's 2 lol). But yeah, the survivor guy & gal were pretty easy to spot as well, stood out as sore thumbs really lol. Still enjoyed the flick though.

Decker, there's a movie that also has Lance Henrikson in it called Abominable, it's a horror movie from 2006 about Bigfoot.

For those who liked this movie, look up the webtoon called "Hive". Similar plot but much more insane with more military engagement and way more wasps.

I watched this movie and I've watched this review at least four times and i only just now noticed that, in the greenhouse when we're introduced to the old lady, that the flowers are HUGE. Just enormous roses and stuff. Some really subtle foreshadowing there.

the part when he says "Who makes horror movies for people who dont like horror movies?" made me think of my sister she wants to see horror movies but when something scary happens she looks away.

Ya know, the CGI on the wasps actually looks pretty good. Why is it lower budget movies are able to utilize good looking CGI better than the big budget Hollywood productions that have millions upon millions of dollars pumped into them?

Maybe the wasp inside Sydney had a birth defect and that is why it took longer to gestate, it was smaller, and it was able to control Sydney.

While i can't say that this is an AMAZING movie it's still pretty good. In a "trashy 90s B-movie horror" kind of way. It gives us everything we need from movies like that: monsters killing people, gore and complete lack of logic about "how the fucking hell is that even possible?". I mean we DO have alot of creature horror movies but insect-based ones are suprisingly pretty rare. And no - spiders are arachnids so they do not count. All and all - a decent flick when you just want to see some gore while not thinking too hard about logic. I'd give him 6 out of 10. Borderline 7.

I want the props that they use for this movie so that I can put them around my house for Halloween

Here from 2020. Can confirm the giant wasps have landed. Waiting for the giant worms from tremors and of course the massive spiders from 8 legged freaks.

Sucked, not Suck. Sucked. Also, there'd be a few distinct dents in their population density in the vicinities of Demolition Ranch, FPS Russia and Crazy Russian Hacker, among others. "In Soviet Russia, mosquito suck on this!" *BOOM!* This is one of those film situations for which the AA-12 is actually rather well suited. Start with skeetshot for the fist-sized mosquitoes, and switch to buckshot or wax slugs for the human- and cow-sized ones. (In a lot of other films, the problem could have been solved with a double-barrel at the right moment. Alien chest-burster? Pow. End of story.)
