I've discovered that everything I see on the internet isn't always 100% true, so after all these years of you warning us of the dire consequences of spilling fountain pen ink, I tested it out (not intentionally). Well, it turns out you were right, the consequences are in fact quite dire. Thankfully, I was at my sisters house at the time. We're not currently on speaking terms.
@@MentalWanderings She just sent me a bomb in the mail. When the police discovered I forgot to immediately close a bottle of fountain pen ink at her house, and then spilled it, they refused to prosecute.
@@beantaylor4332 Thank you, and incidentally, Bean Taylor is maybe the coolest name I've seen on the internet. I hope you're a musician. If not, you should be.
Retroactively watching. I hope the reverence for your wife you showed in so many videos gives you comfort. You clearly showed her love throughout her life. I know she appreciated it, and it made her life better. Best of luck in your healing journey and I hope you treasure the little owl.
Ive stuck around since i saw the catfish drawing video yearsss ago. i haven't seen every video but i always find myself coming back at times when i need to relax and just want to say thank you!!
As usual, wonderfully relaxing video! As for audio processing, I say that less is more in asmr. Even if your room has some background noise, using gates and noise reduction can often make huge difference with only a little bit in the mix. You want to feel as immersed as possible and sometimes background noise is just part of that!
Yes, I love the audio in this one. The tiny bit of white noise in the background actually helps silence my tinnitus ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_cv5fGR4acY.html
yes. asmr takes much less effort than some put in, Rasmr is just enjoying talking about and showing us his interests and hobbies in a soothing manner, that's why he's good. no mic tapping, hand rubbing or whatever else people do.
Anybody else having a difficult time relaxing because of the anticipation for the next video? I still have some unopened baseball and basketball cards from the same era and I want to see what he opens. Sometimes if I am feeling down, I will open a random pack. The memories of the players come flooding back (endorphin release?) and it just seems to make the sadness go away. It’s oddly similar to watching these videos because I enjoy learning and I feel like I am listening to my favorite uncle. I hope all is well with your family and you are sincerely amazing. Btw, I obviously can’t be sure by watching the video, but as an educated guess I would say that your wife’s owl might have been carved out of a feldspar or variation. Quartz is a pretty hard mineral and not easy to carve because the crystals can shatter like glass, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not quartz. It’s just the color where the paint has worn off reminds me of dolomite or labradorite. Lol, I got a degree in geoscience about twenty years ago that I never used so my memory is probably a little off. Anyway, great video and I look forward to more of them. 😃
You know I’ve been watching your videos for over 10 years now through various RU-vid accounts and it has occurred to me that I’ve never (or rarely) commented. I just wanted to say thank you so much. You’ve inspired me to use fountain pens from day one and many years later highly value the experience. Plus I generally always have one of your videos in the background while I write. You have a positive impact on my life and I look forward to watching your channel every night when I’m unwinding. Thank you again. To this day I am very happy you continue to create content. Have a great day.
Never get tired of your talking. You deff have a gentle soft voice that shows your age and wisdom. Exactly how old are you? Rude to ask, but I assumed mid to late 60s?
I am an audio engineer. Audio suggestions: EQ. ~3000 Hz cut 3 dB, Q=0.5 This will make the sound less brittle and crispy. More mellow tones for your voice without making it dull.
Hero 100 was my first fountain pen. But it was a complete disaster, the ink flow was not good at all; also the disassemble is very difficult and requires a specific tools. Btw thanks for your work sir, well done.
This breaks my heart. So so sad. I am sorry for what you were going through this time last year. I also was going through impending loss at that time. ❤
Live your pen ASMR and the baseball cards that stick together but my favorite is the stamp video #1 with the tweezers. That video is my favorite of any I have in my rotation. Hope you do another. You are goat of Asmr. Keep up the great work! I am a vet with ptsd and these videos are a savior to me some days.
You introduced me to ASMR when I got recommended your video of drawing a catfish. Years later, you’re still very much my favorite asmr’tist. Love the videos, thanks for all the entertainment and relaxation. Cheers
I have always had an interest in writing Pens (we are similar in age). The problem is I am left-handed. For those that don’t u understand, we are extremely limited on the pens we can use due to our hand being on the trailing side when we write. Thus a lot (if not most) inks are easily smeared by our hands. :-(
@@ladyredl3210 you should get a couple of 777s ...specially in demonstrator colors... i recommend F nib for writting & EX if you like drawing/doodling.
rly? 7 bucks for the both of them??! What a catch, as a long time fountain pen user myself I tip my hat to that :D (I'm just the same old same old, Lamy german guy....but I'd like to grab me one of those) great find
I keep telling people..jinhao fountain pens are cheap..but good first fountain pens..especially if you wanna get your feet wet into the vast ocean that is fountain pens.
I want you to know that instead of falling asleep to your fountain pen videos, me, a 27yo non-binary person from Finland, watch through the whole thing, immersed. I found some local suppliers that stock and know stuff about re-fillable fountain pens. I am genuinely so happy that I came across your videos and found a new interest! I have a few fountain pens and I am so glad I was able to save one really old one from my granpa's old stuff 😍 it is muted green Parker, and I think it is from the 70's (at least because my granpa got it as a gift then)
If you were to do a video on that tap of that glass alone my brain would be thrilled for one :) proper ASMR tingles. Also, since finding your channel I, like I think many others in this comment section, have purchased one of the fountain pens you recommended... Your love of them is infectious!
I love your fountain pen videos. I've been kind of curious though, do you plan to make another pen log video, Where you measure and weigh the pens. To be honest the first one you made almost 10 years ago, was the first video of yours I ever saw back when it was new. In small groups
10 years ago! Seems like only a moment ago. Measuring and weighing a pen isn't an unusual thing for me to do, so yeah, I imagine there will more of that sometime. Thanks for commenting:)
Have you ever read any of Jonathan Steinberg’s books on fountain pens? I like his other books but curious if his fountain pen books are popular with collectors.
No, can't say that I have. I only have one decent book on fountain pens and it's by Paul Erano. I'll keep an eye out for Steinberg's books now that I know about them. Thanks!
I don't know if you know this, but you are a real blessing. I've watched your videos over the years and it's always interesting and enjoyable and most importantly, relaxing. God bless
You've outdone yourself on this one Praveen!! I had saw a few clips of things presented here in your YT shorts or other videos, but presenting all of this information together, as you've done here, is truly REMARKABLE!! & it blows the mind in regards to "what we *thought we knew" about our history. Mind-blowing, though not surprising, coming from you!...because MOST of your videos have that effect. 😄 Keep being AMAZING, as you, quite casually, bring the world JAW-DROPPING lost history! We ❤ you Praveen!
