Dr. Steven Zucker is a gem! Here, I miss his usual partner in crime from the OG days. No shade to the newer cohort of presenters, they have earned their place, but nothing compares to the original Dr. Beth Harris and Dr. Steven Zucker duo, sheer perfection every time. Both of their voices are such that I could literally listen to them all day, especially at night, no matter the subject.

Are they no longer making videos together?!

@@delusionsofgrandeur1330 Not to worry, they still are! In fact, the most recent post is Drs. Harris and Zucker together again (hooray!) I just remember the old days when they did ALL of the videos. These days, here and there, it’s not the OG duo presenting.

"Rotund human figure" reminded me of myself. 😌😂 Neither of these objects was my cup of tea, but it was cool to learn about them and it's been an amazing year of learning about art across cultures and ages. I look forward to seeing what's in store. Happy New Year, Smarthistory team! ❤

the fact is our modern conceptions of territories and nations prima facie blind us to the knowledge not only of historical trade routes, but more essentially the dispersion/contiguous nature of culture and language all throughout the americas; a delimited example of the great flowering/extension of humanity over the past 100,000 years. the beautiful designs and flow depicted on the merchant is an excellent corollary for the journeys and these connections. ty, fascinating

Why aren’t the three lines on the chin representations of pupae similar to the depictions on Moche portrait vessels?
