Amazing flight and wonderful views. My heart was in my mouth when you missed the powerlines. I know what it is like to hit those bad boys. What an adventure.
@@markallisonparamotor having spoken with military flight safely guys after my powerline incident, they only look for the posts. When they fly at night low level on night vision goggles, they never see the lines.
Mark, another brilliant vdeo, scarey what thermals and airflow can do! Flew the leg near Thorney Island and Selsey during the PARAMOTOR CHALLENGE and it is stunning. Cheers mate, keep up the good work.
Wow plenty to take away from that one Mark. Even in bigger aircraft we don't fly the leeside of a cliff or mountain below the ridge line, I can imagine that was quite a ride down you were getting there. Those power lines, man you were so lucky, very dodgy. Excellent content as always mate.
Yes I did know about the wind on the leeside, but there's nothing like experience to really hammer it home! Those power lines though... 🙄 It's a flight I will never forget.
Wow, thats some awesome scenery. I clinked the bottom of my frame off the top a power line on my first ever flight. Scared the sh*t outta me, but at least I picked my feet up. Im thinking we'd be okay as long as we only dangle from one. I couldnt imagine being at wfo and losing altitude. You've balls of steel my friend.
Another amazing video, how long does it take you to plot all the interesting things you point out? You’re doing some excellent PR for the sport and lucky honest about things that don’t go as you planned which is helpful to others 👍🏻
I used SkyDemon to plan this route. I will sometimes zoom the route on Google Maps and then search for Points of Interest on that to see if I missed anything and then add them in as waypoints. Doesn't take long to do but makes the flight much better and more interesting.
We camped over at the airfield and flew back in the morning. Beautiful day nill wind 22 degrees at 7am. Got to Severn crossing and came across about a 5 mile wide strip of low fog across the Severn. Bottled it and landed out at chepstow race course. Great adventure 👍
Fabulous flights, wonderful scenery! I'd love to fly with you, the only problem I'm having difficulties finding training and also maintaining my used PAP paramotor! Thanks for posting Mark.
Where do you live? There are loads of training places in the UK. A reliable engine does make it easier. But as you may know, I've had my fair share of engine outs.
Somerset, I approached a local trainer but he has not been very interested or encouraging at all. I will probably need to look further afield or even abroad for a recognised course.
Have you tried www.bhpa.co.uk/schools/ to find your nearest one? Some people will travel and stay over at a place like Wingland and get training from Mike Chilvers at www.ufly4fun.com/
Incredible footage and loving the content. Seriously considering taking up paramotoring, it looks bliss! I currently fly out of Lee On Solent airfield ona PPL, didn’t realise you guys could get so high, will certainly be looking out harder for you guys higher up! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for looking out for us. We did notify Solent that we would be flying that day just to be on the safe side. If you look back at my history I did a flight up to 10,000. It was a bit cold though with no cockpit 🤣
Another amazing video mate! I love the history lessons/pointers. Finding little gems like that is one of my favourite things to do when flying. Once my back is back to normal i'd love to go flying with you at some point! I'm down near Brighton and just struggling to find somewhere to takeoff so if you know anyone to the east of Brighton way, i'd appreciate the pointer! Take care mate, keep up the good work!
I have been in long sink before. its quite a nerve wracking thing. Just have to see it like having an engine out.. or being caught in red tide :D Another great adventure. thanks for sharing, looks beautiful.
Loved the vid mark as always! And im glad you didnt hit them lines because that was fkn close... I have a question, have you ever flown over/near canterbury and seen the catherdal? Or flown in and down the kent downs?
Where you were caught out by rotor and saw the windsock is the home of Butterfly Paragliding (Dave Botha), there is a launch field 14:57 and you can fly the cliffs of Blackgang Chine , and the Chale run . 14:57
I loved my paramotoring days, the best fun. I have also flown fixed wing for 35 years and now have a Foxbat that I regularly fly over and around The Needles but fondly remember the hot summer evenings with numerous failed launches that helped build up a thirst for the apres flying at the local pub. Here was one of my early crashes with my paramotor from the Strawberry fields near Lymington. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q2bozMt-7f4.html Lots of other content, all my own, on my site. Yours is a very good video, I have subscribed and look forward to more films.
I use the skybean chase cam and I have it quite short on the adjustable cable, maybe only a third out. I attach to the trailing edge, the first loop on the opposite side to the torque for the machine.
jesus mark can you stop giving us anxiety every single time you upload? 🤣 i start to feel you are doing this on purpose for the youtube clicks eh buddy? there is always something! engine out. power lines. turbulence. wing collapse. i see para-motoring as something to get my anxiety down and mental health up but youuuu hohoho! 🤪 😅 boi oh boi i read the title and be like: "oh dear god here we go again mark..." love the photos as always. i just came home from the best flight i had in my life. made a battery range test. come around if you like and watch cheers mate°
finished downloading most photos just to explore the area in such nice high resolution. mark those alone have wallpaper quality. i cant believe you casually shoot them while flying. i barely dare to take my hands of the brakes. wow... please adopt me and take me to fly there. EDIT: say do you work on your photos in any way or do you just upload them straight from camera?
Looking back at your video titles, is seems to be half about crashes, engines failing and all manner of other dangerous occurrences, and a bit about amazing views. Perhaps you should consider if you are overly "click-baity" with your titles, or if you are playing with death and destruction in your flying ;-) I lean towards click bait. Still a nice video, though, and lovely scenery 👍
@@markallisonparamotor I agree. Was more a stab at the titles really ;-) Always makes me think you were going out with a bang... almost. I know that sort of thing works, but still... Just a quick comment. Nothing deeper. Safe flights :-)
