21st May 2024 - We drove up the Remarkables, and scored a carpark right at the top. Gotta love shoulder season! The hike to Lake Alta is a 3.6km loop, gaining 196m of elevation, highest point 1818m. You start out hiking up the ski runs, to the top of the Alta chairlift, before heading off on a scenic single track up to the lake. It is moderate difficulty, but the breathtaking views are totally worth it. Finished the day at the Onsen hot pools in Queenstown, a great way to cap off Caitie's 36th Birthday!
