In this video I am making a flower design on a cured black resin coaster using alcohol inks by Lets Resin. What I used for this is the white sinker ink, 91% alcohol, two colors (cerulean, turquoise) and a alcohol ink blower. the technique is dropping a couple drops of alcohol and then a drop or two of the white and then blowing it gently with the blower to guide it to create a flower petal and continue this process around the coaster. The create a second layer of petals using only the white ink. I then used the colored ink in alteration around the coaster on top of the white to create colored petals. once all the petals are done, then I used the Marabu rainbow ink to top layer a row of petals and then I top coated the coaster with clear resin.

Anything outside the box & creating something unique like this is always a win! Plus it’s a great idea to coverup coasters that maybe u didn’t love the final results on & can turn them into a new piece only needing the resin top coat. Idk bout anyone else but I must have 20 different coasters set I made but didn’t do anything special for me so they get set aside😊

@@resinmeup I was reading thru all the comments & came across the 1 about ur tattoo. I saw ur response about ur daughter having Sjogren’s. I don’t think I’ve spoken to u about this b4, but I know I did speak with someone a couple years back about it. I also have Sjogren’s & can count on 1 hand people I met that have it, but even fewer that know what it is. I don’t want to ask about ur personal business in the comments but I am curious about her treatment & potential symptoms. I also have SLE Lupus & find that even top specialist on the east coast are extremely uneducated in differentiating a lupus flare from a Sjogren’s flare. Typically the answer for either one is steroids.
@resinmeup
@resinmeup 7 месяцев назад
@@AllysonWonderlandOfResin I don't mind sharing anything and everything about Sjogrens. I try to speak about it as much as I can because of that reason. She was diagnosed in 2015 and it has affected multiple organ systems to date, mouth, eyes, skin, heart, muscles, bones and brain. So she sees multiple spealists on a regular basis. But the treatment for the actual Sjogrens is Plaqunil/hydroxachlorquine. She has been on this regimine for 7 years. She refuses to do steroid therapy. It never helps and makes everything worse. But with all the other things it has caused she takes about 20 different medications daily.

@@resinmeup Thank u 4 being so open about this Mary! I agree people need to speak openly to help educate others. I was diagnosed in 2016. We live close to Philly so I went to University of Penn to the top rheumatologist & president of the Lupus Foundation. It didn’t matter, I ended spending 8 hrs sitting in the waiting room to see her for all of 10 min each month. Between that & seeing 6 other specialists regularly, I chose to find local specialists in my area. Even having all the top specialists & running myself ragged I continued to feel worse & worse. Being on steroids in the beginning caused my adrenal gland to stop working & I weened off of steroids. I got so fed up last November I stopped seeing all of them with the exception of my Rheumy, stopped all medications they had me on except Plaquenil. I only continue seeing her so I can keep a running log of my blood work & compare it to how I’m feeling. My last 4 sets of labs were better than they have ever been. Previously my Complement C3/C4 levels were extremely low & my white blood cell, red blood cell & hemoglobin & iron were ridiculously low & had to go for infusions with a hematologist 4/5x per week. Now everything is in normal range. I came to the point where it was consuming every thought & I couldn’t live in constant cycle of being sick. It cost me 8yrs of my life & made me hopeless. It has been a rough road but I feel free now. I listen to my body & let it dictate what I am comfortable doing & not doing. I’m so glad that ur daughter chooses not to take steroids either. They break down ur skeletal system & cause massive damage later in life. I’m sorry she has been affected so badly from this disease, that they still know nothing about. I’m not sure if she’s tried biological injections but please do ur research on any newer medications they recommend & document any changes, for ur own peace of mind/comparison. This may sound a bit “woo-woo” so do with it what u will, but have u ever heard/researched sound healing? Frequencies/vibration that can realign ur bodies resonate Frequency? It a treatment she can experiment with at home for free & when u understand the science behind it, makes complete rational sense to me imo! If u r interested I could recommend a few RU-vid videos & channels to check out that explain it & have the exact science/data/evidence. I feel an obligation to try to help anyone fighting this battle in any way possible & I can’t imagine being in ur position as her Mom & feeling helpless & having ur hands tied. I give u so much respect/praise for being her rock!

Very creative idea! So many options and colors.. different base colors would be fun to try too. I know you love the Malabu alcohol glitter, so do I😊 Have you seen the other ones they have? They are so pretty. One is violet-blue-green and I think another one is red-green-gold. There might be one other.. I can’t remember. We did the tabletops on our nightstands, the colors were mostly copper, bronze and a lil burgundy. We did 4 layers total, the 2nd layer I added those small holographic maple leaves. They were under the colored layer so, you can just see a glimpse of them. The final layer (before the topcoat) I added Marabu’s red, green, gold and moved it around with the heat gun along with the other colors. My hubby hadn’t ever done resin and he did so good! We had so much fun doing that project and they turned out great. Anyway if you don’t have the other ones, you should definitely get them, I’m sure you’ll love them! Great job coming up with a new technique!

I have seen them, just havnt ordered them yet, Im still in the process of revamping my room, so once I get everything settled and put away, Ill get them. Your tables sound amazing. I have a couple night stands I want to redo the tops on, one day. Thank you so much for always supporting me, I appreciate it. ❤🥰

This is so pretty...I came searching how to use mixatives in resin and your link came up...lucky me! You could also use an airbrush if you have one to move the ink or a straw...what an awesome technique!

It’s a fantastic technique, I’m definitely going to try it, but a 30min video to blow some ink around is way too long. It dragged on so long I had to fast forward through the majority. IMO it just didn’t need that slow walk…it is a wonderful idea and I’m not taking anything away from that 👌🏼

In ceramics it is a slip trailer, you suck up the slip then trail it or blob it in designs onto leather hard clay, then you dry that , then put it in your kiln. Then glaze , then back in kiln. I used them all the time.

If you wanted to do just the colors on a white coaster then absolutely, the white wouldn't show up but you wouldn't need it. just keep in mind that you want to use coordinating colors so it doesn't muddy on you. But great idea.
